One of Bale's favorite Batman comics is DKR, what is one of the primary plot archs in DKR? How Robin gives hope to Batman when he's in dark times... And I think they built to a similiar arch in Dark Knight 2.
In DKR: Batman is mourning Jason Todd's death, the police are hunting him, and a great deal of the public hates.
In DK: Batman will be mourning Rachel, the police will be hunting him and great deal of the public hates him.
Plus the entire crews greatest inspiriation are the works of Jeph Loeb... And in Dark Victory Robin serves a similar purpose.
And what is a consitancy between almost all of Loeb major plot archs? Catwoman is a major supporting character. Now what was Hush about? It was about how Batman's love for Catwoman gives him hope for a better life.
So we've got a frenchise more or less inspired by two comics that involve an ally coming in and rescuing Batman from his own darkness, and we've got a hero who's in the darkest place he's ever been. I seriously doubt that there not even considering those two characters for a sequel.
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

For those who have expectations of Harvey Two-Face being alive, I'm sorry to kill them but in the official novelization it explains that he dies. In chapter Twenty-Five pages 286(last sentence)-287 (first paragraph)
Gordon grabbed his flashlight and shined it into the hole. At the bottom, Dent was sprawled, neck twisted, the mutilated side of his face exposed, his left eye open and staring sightlessly. He was obviously dead. |

That doesn't mean anything.. did you read the novel for Begins? It mentions that 1) Ras Al Ghul does in fact use the pits.. 2) that no body was found and Bruce had heard rumors of Ras being around.
Yet in TDK, even the Novel, Ras is dead. So anything can happen.

Also the actor sign for the option of 2 movies and he loves /hopes to be in part 3. Two face is still alive. Nolan knows what he is doing.

Here's why I think Two-face is still alive; a movie maker has to be damn near retarded to kill off the center character of a plot and have no weight to it.
Gordon and Batman mourn what's happened to Harvey, but can anyone here honestly say they acted like a friend just died?
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

There's actually no mention of Ras being dead or alive in the novel, there's certain mentions of him but not one of them is the acknwoledgement of Ra's being dead. |

Gah, reading all this starts the hype machine for the next one and the current one is no where near out of the theaters. |

two face is alive in my interpretation.
why would batman fall under joker's temptations, and break his one rule? besides...when two face flipped his coin for jim's kid, it flipped on the good side. i'm assuming it foreshadowed hope for harvey.
what if they did a face the face kind of thing for the next movie? harvey becoming good (maybe the judge from TNBA?), but then becoming bad again after a crazy accident. i can see that happening.

I didn't actually take from it that Harvey himself was dead. With Batman telling Gordon he'll take the blame as Gotham needs Harvey Dent and then the funeral/memorial for Dent, it seemed more like the death of Harvey Dent and the beginning of Harvey Two-Face for me. |

Still.. #1, plus we've taken down Spiderman 2, and are about to take down Spiderman, making The Dark Knight the #1 comic based movie.
Take a look:

I have a question about the movie. I'm sure it's already been covered and I just missed it on the forum, but here it goes.
When Lucius says that "as long as that machine is here, I won't be" he decides to leave. but when he puts in his name as the code, the machine appears to be destroyed. So did Lucius quit? Or because it was destroyed, he decided to stay? |

Well.. the machine was destroyed, so it is no longer at Wayne Enterprises, which means Fox is..

If and when they do a third movie, I hope they don't replace Heath. It was his role. He made it the epic role it was. |

The Dark Knight is now #3 in the All Time chart!
#1 for the 4th weekend in a row, thats awesome considering Wed. Thurs. and Friday it lost out to Pineapple express.
We're now sitting at $441,541,000 Domestic. We only need 20,000,000 to take the #2 spot. But can we make it to 600 Million? Read my opinion and chime in!!

I suspect they'll go for the DVD release, and the inevitable extra revenue that brings in before it reaches $600. So (sadly), I think it'll probably be a no.
The vast bulk of the people that have seen this arent full-time Batman fans, they've just been drawn in by the (very just) hype. Consumers often go with the flow, and if they get the disc in stores sooner rather than later, with it currently being such a hot topic, I bet it increases sales.
The DVD will sell whenever it's released, but if they do it quickly, I think it'll sell more. |

The DVD is set for the middle of November.. so we have roughly 3 more months.
If it doesn't make 600 Million, I think it'll be close. Jett over on BOF said that his sources claim about 515 Million.. I think thats cutting it short. So in 3 months time, the movie will only just make another 70 Million?
Clone Wars will probably knock it off the throne, but I say that in less than two weeks itll be at 500 Million. That's roughly 4 Million per day for 14 days. Shoot, we might make it there in 10 days. IF the numbers stay at between 3 and 6 million per day.
I'll be happy with the #2 spot, however if it nds up making like say 590 Million.. then I might get ed.. I mean.. we would be so close..
As I said..time will tell...

Death is not quite what it seems in the comic books, so why would films based on comic books be so different?
I think Two-Face lived and he might be back in the next film and be the main villain as Batman tries to clear his name.
