well heres some new casting news
Exclusive: Casting News On The Dark Knight
Date: January 25, 2007
By: Kellvin Chavez
Source: Latino Review
OYE!
EL MOFACKIN' MAYIMBE AQUI!
After much speculation on the web, I got some news concerning casting on THE DARK KNIGHT, the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS!
We gave the world the first look at the script review for BATMAN BEGINS 3 years ago so it goes without saying that my information is solid concerning this project. I don't get my information from any publicists, like other people do, those folks get spoon fed and believe me you expect other sites to start calling their peeps at WB to find out if this is true?.Like they will ever tell you the truth.
So that being said...
It's official (no surprise), HARVEY DENT is in THE DARK KNIGHT. Matt Damon passed on the role. The filmmakers met Josh Lucas and there is an interest in Jamie Foxx and Ed Norton. I'm pretty sure there are other actors that I'm not aware of up for the Harvey Dent role.
Now the big news is that the character of RACHEL DAWES is back in THE DARK KNIGHT but Katie Holmes won't be playing her!
No surprise there.
She is being replaced and the filmmakers are looking for that actress now. Let the speculation begin...
Some other minor roles...
Eastern European Heavy - tough bad guy mobster, 40s-50s
Female Cop - Latin, 30s. Elizabeth Pena type.
Asian Accountant - male, 40s
Sounds like a lot of diversity in the sequel!
Also according to Production Weekly, the film has been in pre-production as of January 11th.
Lastly there is no Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin in THE DARK KNIGHT.
That is all I have for now so stick with the hardest working Beaners in showbiz here at Latinoreview as further information develops on THE DARK KNIGHT! In the meantime, I have to change back into my housekeeping clothes and sneak onto the Warner lot here in Burbank. Wow, Alan Horn has quite a nice office!
HASTA EL PROXIMO CAPITULO...
...YO SOY EL MAYIMBE!
well with the resent rachel mcadams rumour, maybe she could end up being dawes,i still like her for the role of selina kyle though

NO! They can't replace an actor! I hate it wen people do that, it takes me right out of the movie when you see someone replace someone else.

I don't like their decision to change the actor. I hope they decide to not go with Rachel Dawes and create a new female lead, someone who doesn't know who Batman is. |

If they're bringing Dawes back, she's going to have a smaller role, remember that she dumped Bruce in Begins.

I put up a news colum up on the front page. Other than this thread, it'll help with keeping up to date with all the news.

Yep, just like Kirstie Alley who played Lt. Saavik in Star Trek The Wrath Of Khan, only to be replaced by Robin Curtis in the role for Star Trek The Search For Spock.

Umm... Nolan never said Cobblepot wouldn't be in the movie, he said that Penguin would be hard to translate and that he'd be more excited by having Hoffman as an actor then Penguin as a character.
None of this is him saying he won't use the character or that he doesn't like or want the character. He's just saying that he likes Philip Seymour Hoffman and that using the Penguin is a challange.
Now I know some of you are going to think I'm a crack-pot again, but the truth is that Nolan tends to word things carefully so that he can hide the truth without being entirely dishonest.

New news
Scooper 'Retroman' from Superhero Hype alerted many that just as Batman Begins was filmed under the code name "Intimidation Game," The Dark Knight will also have one. According to Reel Chicago, the shooting title will be "Rory's First Kiss":
Moskal also has talked with Warner's about a major film, whose secret subject is hidden under the title of "Rory's First Kiss." It could shoot here for 80 days over the summer.
As you may or may not know, Rory is the name of The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan's son.
Also, just like Batman Begins, The Dark Knight will shoot in Chicago again for 13 weeks of filming.

retroman is the bomb!anyways new dawes casting rumour
From Cinemablend:-
With Katie Holmes out, The Dark Knight casting rumors are flapping around at a torrid pace. I?m afraid we?re going to have to be responsible for starting this particular one.
Obviously Chris Nolan is actively looking for someone to take over Katie Holmes? Rachel Dawes character in the new Batman film. Earlier this week rumor had it that they were considering Rachel McAdams for the part, but according to one of our regular scoopers, they may end up going with Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt. Word is that the folks behind the Batman Begins sequel are impressed with her, and may bring Blunt in to read for the role.
Our same anonymous source insists that Katie didn?t leave the project, but was dropped. Anything you?ve heard otherwise is just PR spin to save face. Of course, anyone with half a brain could have figured that out. You don?t intentionally ditch a recurring role in Batman to star in a crappy romantic comedy with Queen Latifah. Nobody, not even Katie Holmes, is that stupid.
I like the idea of Emily Blunt as Rachel Dawes a lot better than Rachel McAdams. Don?t get me wrong, I prefer McAdams as an actress, but somehow she just doesn?t seem like she belongs in the smudged brown world of the caped crusader.
For now though, just pencil this in as a wild rumor. My source is one that?s been right before, yet even if this is true it only means that Emily Blunt is being considered for the part of Rachel Dawes. It doesn?t mean she has it. Sit back and wait for Nolan to make up his mind.

Joker should kill Rachel Dawes just for the fun of it as a sick joke and Bruce's new girl will be Vicki Vale or Linda Page or Julie Madison. Or all three 'cuz that's how Bruce rolls jk lol.

Promoting it the way it should takes money. And as you all know, I barley make the payment each month..LOL
Any other ideas, start a thread in the members section and we can discuss it!

For years BYTB only had a couple hundred die-hard members. In the last year or two Membership has grown to over 1,000 and we have a lot of active posters on the boards. The best promotion is word of mouth, so tell everybody about BYTB and that should be enough.

As far as Nolan or anybody involved in the films checking BYTB or BOF or any of the fan sites, I?m not sure he does. I think Nolan has a good feel for what works and what does not work and what the fans want and what the public expects. He showed that in Batman Begins, there were parts that the general public didn?t know about, but the fan boys did and Nolan weaved it seamlessly into the storyline. I think he?ll do the same this time out as well.
I also think you have to look up MEDIOCRITY, because Batman Begins was not even remotely mediocre.
