Can't really be sure. The end may be due to mainstream movie fans becoming bored rather than the films actually being bad. I could honestly see this sequel being like Spider-Man's sequel, becoming the best Batman film ever, and one of the best comic films ever. I mean come on, it's Batman Vs. The Joker. Although the fact that we already got a version of this in '89 may also be a cause of minimal attention. Who really knows...

Some people I knew thought that this was just a prequel to '89. He said, "It was stupid that they gave it away at the end about the Joker. They could have made more films." I told him it was a complete restart.

i herd that batman begins 2 and 3 will be filmed back to back. so we know there will be 3 batman movies...theyre all gnna be good movies, but if theres too much batman movies, people will get bored of them...im thinking 5 at most. or it might just be 3, who knows?

I would think the new series will be stretched out as long as it continues to make money. I can't imagine Christopher Nolan continuing beyond 3 films though.
Let's hope WB learned their lesson from the Schumacher films...director's need to be carefully chosen. |

if chris nolan ever stops, then i wud like for frank miller(if hes still alive at that time, lol) to direct a DKR movie. that would be so nice. oh and DKR minus carrie kelly. as kool as carrie kelly is, i dont think alot of ppl(non batman fans) wud like to watch a batman movie where robin is a girl...hmm so is this possible or am i just dreaming?

Guys, BB2 and BB3 are plotted. Making this a Batman trilogy. However, does people love that number? 3? Or...5?

5 is pushing it, they would have to introduce some serious changes for it not to get stale after awhile

I don't think there's any chance of it getting stale. The character's been around since 1939 and has survived constant evolution. I would imagine Nolan will step aside after 3 films. I'd like to see Frank Miller write a Bat-film at some point, not necessarily "Dark Knight Returns" but a fresh story. |

I don't know if you thought of it, but the rumored in progress Batman/Superman would technically be a Batman 4 and a Superman 4. Leaving a 5 being DKR.

I think they could get four out of this at the very most. Unless they take Batman through his whole crimefighting career and do some interesting things with him getting into old age and retiring. I can't see four or five consecutive films all about the classic Batman just fighting different villians, the general public would grow tired. I'm shooting for three films.

I highly doubt we'll ever see Superman/Batman together in a film. The two universes of the characters seem light years apart in terms of tone. It's probably more likely that Bruce Wayne will appear on "Smallville." Just my opinion... |

I think a "Batman Beyond" type film would be cool at some point. Not necessarily just like the animated series but I would like to see a future Bruce Wayne, retired and beaten passing the torch to a new hero. It's a great concept but I see Gotham City evolving much differently than it did in the series. I would make it an even darker world than the one that Bruce knew. There would be some great storylines involving whether or not Batman was needed and if he made a difference. Cool stuff... |

i think this particular series will go 3. this is what Nolan and Goyer have planned. now, what happens after these 3 is anyones guess. will the bats vs. supes happen? who knows. its too far in the future to say. i do think that for as long as im alive there will be Batman movies. will they be any good? again, who can say.

Here's what I think will happen in a perfect world:
Bale, Caine, Oldman, Freeman, Goyer and Nolan make six films without crazy villains or sidekicks, and each film better than the last.
Here's what I think will actually happen:
The entire cast will return for one great sequel. The following sequel will drop Morgan Freeman and possibly Michael Caine because they're too expensive. A new director will take it in a strange new direction and constant rewrites will cause it to exist in development hell for a few years before a mediocre film is made, which will have minimal success. WB frantically take the series into a different direction, firing the cast and crew and starting fresh again. The final film will follow a comic book, Sin-City look and a Dark Knight Returns film will be attempted, recruiting Frank Miller. However, once again people will discover how Miller can't work as a director or writer, and the film will suck harder than RoboCop 2 and 3 put together (Miller wrote both of these films).
Am I optimistic about this series? For the first sequel, yes. Anything after that and we'll be headed down the same road as before. All WB is concerned about is the money.
In the shadows I saw my destiny...
I would seek justice...
I would have my revenge... |
