I cant shake this bad feeling so maybe you guys can talk to me here and help me out? lol. I`ve been becoming to accept Heath Ledger as our man which is not my problem anymore. Its just that Nolan said his Joker is not going to be anything like who we saw in 1989 (not refering to Nicholson but his character as the joker) and I think that Joker was pretty awesome not to mention true to the character in the comics in my opinion. I guess you could kinda say I have a feeling that the joker wont be the joker by personality lol. I know Nolan is great and maybe this feeling is just coming from me not having a clue what he will carry out to us and plus I udnerstand how this franchise is supposed to take a more realistic closer to a non fictional effect so does that mean we wont see any joker laughing gas, exploding jack in the box, or his deadly corsage??? AHHH! HELP!!! LOL

I don't know what to say, I just know I'm looking forward to it.
My problem with Nicholson's Joker was that it was watered down with Jack's personality. in this I think they're going to be more theatrical and have a menacing Joker, I mean if you watch the 89 Batman you'll find that it's hard to take The Joker seriously. If they go darker than they will have a villain capable of taking on The Dark Knight, and considering the way the last movie turned out, I think we're in good hands.
And about "being faithful to the comics", there is no such thing. The Batman franchise has lasted over sixty years and the characters have past through the hands of so many writters, so there are dozens of Batmen, Robins, Gordons, Alfreds, Penguins and Jokers. The only thing we can be faithful to is the image in our head, and my image of The Joker is pretty much what was drawn by Alex Ross.
So it's an unfortunate fact, but some people are going to be dissapointed. But as you have already realized your Joker on the big screen, I hope you don't hold a grudge if this movie has mine.
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

I wish that people would be more accepting of that fact. Not to say that there are not bad stories, but people need to acknowledge that there are other correct visions from their ideal ones.
Back to the topic at hand...
I haven't really sweated it out too much. Begins showed that the franchise was in the right hands. We are still a little less than 2 years from this movie, so it is way too early to start worrying about it.
I have found that if you accept that there are many interpretations of the characters you are more prone to be more accepting of the different things. Jack Nicholson and Tim Burton defined Batman and the Joker for a generation. Now it is a different times, and there are going to be many who don't like the Burton films because Begins is their movie.
Embrace the change, and enjoy seeing your favorite fictional character on the big screen. There are not many comic characters that have had movie let alone 6.
Razhwurz and DK summed it up nicely: there are too many interpretaions of these characters for there to be one "true" version, and we all have our favorites. The movie will definitely disappoint some people, but that's true of every movie that has ever been filmed.

Yea I never thought about it that way. How with all the writers theres no actual real true version, just our favorites...WOW! lol. That actually helped a lot. Thanx!
