According to Aaron Eckhart, Two-face is going to play a prominent role.
My guess, he shows up in the third act to take revenge on Joker or whoever scarred his face, just like Long Halloween

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before (I don't follow this particular thread that closely) - but the views of THIS THREAD are now at more than 50,000!!!
I noticed sometime ago that it was around 48,000 and I've not been around too much lately - but that's a staggeringly impressive statistic, and just goes to show that we're the main place to talk Bat on the net.

i think it's funny that so many people view, but only a few post. it's only really like 7 of us or so.
but with the dark knight hype going on, i'm sure we'll get more post-ers.
that first tv spot was awesome. this movie will show the batman everyone knows and loves and more. haha. i'm just really turned off by rachel dawes. lol. i'm hoping for vicki vale in the next one. i have a strange feeling that in the line "starting tonight people will die," rachel will be one of those people. it'll probably drive batman to break someone's arm or cripple someone.

I actually like the character of Rachel, not to say I particularly adored Holmes' perfromance, I just prefer a character that Bruce is actually in love with rather than some chick he meets and instantly wants to bone (like Vale in 89, or Catwoman in Returns, or Chase in Forever  ), so I'm looking forward to a capable actress playing here

This is something I've wanted to tell for a little while. When I first heard they were calling the motorcycle the "Bat-pod." I was against it. The idea of calling something "Bat-something" just didn't fit into the world of Nolan's Batman.
However after watching the 3rd full trailer and hearing Michael Caine say it, I'm taking it back. It actually sounded really good to hear it in the movie. It might just work.

no way that bugs me so much mostly because batman rarely calls anything bat-whatever it may be. and as for dawes i dont really like her to much and i dont see her being played by a good actress and if she dies then i think it will keep him doing what he does. like in the scene where bruce says what would u have me do? and alfread responds fight or whatever mabey bruce is all emo because she does die

From the trailer, and this is just my opinion but I feel like the movie won't be as grounded in reality as Begins. Its taking it a step further. The film can get away with saying things like "Bat-vehicle" and gliding through the skies of Gotham.

The way I see it, Alfred and Bruce both have a sense of humour in this franchise; I don't think they take the name "bat-pod" seriously, it's probably just a nickname they have for it.
Also, Begins had Batman gliding through the skies of Gotham, too. They just didn't show him doing it around skyscrapers.

I have no problem with things being slightly unrealistic. We are dealing with a comic book superhero, after all, so reality has to be suspended from time to time. Honestly I'd prefer Bat-Bike or Bat-Chopper to Bat-Pod because it doesn't look like a Pod to me, but that's just me.
As for Rachel Dawes, I think she plays an integral role in Harvey Dent's descent into Two-Face, and therefore should not die in this movie. Her and Harvey are knocking boots, half of Harvey's face is burned off, she freaks and runs for comfort into the arms of Bruce Wayne, Harvey catches them, and snaps. I also found it annoying in every other Batman movie when he'd give his secret identity away to the flavor of the month, so the fact that this won't happen in TDK makes me happy. |

What's lame about her? She's not played by a generic Playboy bunny? She doesn't rob people like all Batman's other crazy girlfriends?
She's a justice driven, strong independent female, who isn't a skank like every other "strong, independent female" in cinema, and is ACTUALLY in love with the lead character (none of that Vale sleeping on the first date skankiness). Her relationship with Bruce gives a great deal of emotional weight to the character, and she's going to contribute to Harvey Dent's character arch a lot.
Katie Holmes SUCKED. But with a capable actress like Gyllenhaal playing Dawes she's very likely to the best female lead to grace a comic book movie for in a very long time. I'd hate to see that reign cut short by Mr. J. But then again that might just give us more reason to hate him (in the love to hate way), which is a good thing.
Rant done.
Oh yeah, Dent and Bruce are friends in the cartoon, but I don't believe they are in the comics.

dude, but maggie gyllenhaal is ugly. hahaha. i'm sure it doesn't matter all too much, i mean she'll be a lot better than holmes, but she's not as good looking as a "batman's love interest" should be.
the way i see it, joker will probably kill her. it'll probably be the thing that gets harvey to go insane after the scarring.
