You know when we watch Thriller/Horror movies, there's those times in the film when the villain jumps out of nowhere and terrorizes its victims? If Christopher Nolan didn't create Batman Begins, do you think Batman could work in the same type of genre Freddie, Jason, or Aliens? Not so much the horror or slasher film but the extreme element of surprise?
Please tell me I'm making sense.

It could kinda.. They already gave you the element of suprise in Begins, to go any further into the other genre you'd have to focus on the villains so that you didn't see anything of Batman til he showed up. So you'd have to sacrifice character development.
Second, have you ever seen a movie with Fraddy or Jason? There is not a single moment in any of those movies that is suprising because it's all predictable. When a horror movie has horny teenagers on a boat you always know Jason's gonna come out of the lake and kill them.
Alien, now there were some suprises.
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!
