Bulky? More cut and ripped to me.
I like it. I still would like to see more details about it though especially the neck part |

I think they have gone a bit too far, but I'll wait to see it on film first.

The great thing about putting high detail like that into a black suit is that when you put it in shadow all the ridges and overhangs create more shadows on the suit, giving the illusion of him blending into the shadow and a very organic look (watch Alien and you'll see what I'm saying).
I think this will be a lot like the Begins suit, in that you see it in front of a white screen and it's far to armour like, but when it's in shadows and in motion it looks really organic, like a giant bat should.
My one irk, judging from the toys, it doesn't have a scalloped cape... WTF mate?!

Yeah, I don't like the Superman-like cape. The scalloped cape is a key to Batman's image. |

what, no glider cape? that's a shame. i guess he'll have to rely more on his grapple now.
i really do hope the cape is scalloped though. it's great for silhouettes and gliding.

The one's you saw with the scalloped cape weren't the movie accurate ones.
The movie accurate ones I saw, the 5 inch black one and the hyper figure, didn't have scalloped capes. Plus if you take up the first press photo of the new suit and change the brightness and contrast so that you can get a better look at the cape, it will look like it isn't scalloped.
However, if you remember the when the suit was revealed, you'll remember the costume designer told us she that she couldn't tell us what the new cape does, adn that it was top secret... So while we don't know whether the glider will return, we do know it does something.

Umm... What? Ra's al Ghul didn't wear anything that looks like this in Begins nor did his ninjas.
I'm pretty sure TDK's suit is a new Wayne Tech model.

He already has short ears... Any shorter and he'll probably lose his signature silluette.
I don't want him to change his costume again. it just seems ridiculous for to have a new costume EVERY movie. I mean, why on earth would they need to do that?
However, I wish they had put less detailing on the armour so we could have muscle deffinition (like in the first). But as it stands, I'd rather have this costume used again then to hae them replace it again.

well i'm not sure why he needed a new suit in the dark knight, but i'll find out soon enough. lol.
and as for the new suit in the next movie...i saw in new frontier where batman saves a kid, but the kid gets scared and runs away from him. later on, he wears a different suit, and superman asks him "what's with the new look?" and he says "i set out to frighten criminals, not children" which i thought was really cool. but i'm sure that kind of thing doesnt matter in nolan's world. haha.
and this is my theory: batman uses the suit from batman begins as a regular while the new TDK suit is used for some kind of purpose that i don't know about. i wouldn't be surprised if they use the old(batman begins) suit for the next movie.

Yeah, but that was the Begins suit. In this movie he will wear the Begins suit then change to the new, TDK suit.
As in Begins, the cape on the first suit is scalloped, but the new suit is the one the apears doesn't have a scalloped cape.

yeah, i think the begins suit is the actual suit. the new suit will probably be used for a special purpose.

Well they did that in all 5 films so far. In part I guess because they all had different sized actors, but even Keaton's Batsuit was changed for Batman Returns.

Well, I can handle minor changes and improvments, but to completely redesign it seems weird. I mean in the comics how many times has he changed his costume completely? Maybe three or four times in 7 decades. So why make him change his costume again and again and again?
Now the TDK suit was good change because he needs the extra mobility so fight better and especially to can ride the Bat-pod. But from here on I say "If it ain't broke don't fix it"
