All the major actors signed on for three films, so we will get at least three, just like Spider-man. However, Spider-man did so well they will make a fourth film and Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as well as the third as yet unnamed film should do as well, so maybe we’ll see more.

Correction, all major actors are signed with the option of three films. That means that they can pull out of the project at any time if the studio doesn't like it or if the creators want to move on.
However, The Dark Knight it is looking to be really succesful so they almost deffinitely will make a third.
Also, while they are making a fourth Spider-man project, there is no saying the Sam Raimi will direct and Tobey Maguire will star again, we might end up with an entirely new cast & crew.

I believe DC Comics and Warner Bros.
have no interest in making anymore money...???
Had you for a second there...
Of course there will be another movie...
Think of all the lunch boxes that can be
sold...
Warner Bros. will milk the Batman franchise to the
end...
I don't blame them either...

there are way too many batman stories for them to stop making movies. the bat-movie i'm waiting for is jason todd's death, and tim drake's arrival...if such events could take place in one movie.
they're probably going to make the 3 nolan batman movies solely on batman, but after nolan's done and tired of the character, i'm sure we'll get a director who wants to put robin in.

I heard Robin might appear in it but I hope not and I doubt Nolan would do that. Two-Face will prob be in it and maybe Harley Quinn? We all know Joker dies in this (I know how I won't say here though) so maybe his old girlfriend wants revenge on Batman for some reason? I don't know I am looking forward to the third film also since I know so much about TDK already

If you really do know so much, pm me so we can compare notes. everything I've been told says that Jokers does not die.. he was supose to be in the third one and there is already speculation on who would be able to pull it off.
My vote would be Johnny Depp...

I seriously doubt Nolan would do that, this role is all about Heath now... He wouldn't put in some random mimic, whether he is Johnny Depp or whoever.

I like Heath.. but, the role is larger than him. Yes, it looks like he is going to be the best so far. But he won't be the last, and he might not be the best. If they do bring him back for the third the role would have to go to someone who can stand on their own. A seasoned actor who can make the role their own without screwing up what Heath had done.
Someone like Depp could do that. He could honor What Heath had done and still make the Joker his own.
BUT, I to doubt that the Joker is in the third.. I just know that he was supose to be.

That was part of the Viral Campaign. It was not in anyway intended to reflect the plot of the film, just give an ending to the game that was being played.
In the plot of the viral campaign Joker faked his death to evade the police, to do this he killed a man and dressed his corpse as a Joker to fool the police. That image was released in tandem with the game that involved this plot line.

Oh, well we all know still Joker must die. If not and I were Nolan I would hate myself for not killing him off.

y kill him? batman wont do it and i doubt 2 face will because i think batman and face will meet up with joker and have a 3 way fight that batman will win and instead of killing either of em he wont because dawes wouldnt want him to do that and also about your comment with harley. i dont think she would be in the next film beacause if u look at the tone of the last film and this one she is not nearly dark enough to be in this movie and im shure that there are parts about her that would say otherwise but i just cant see this happening.

To kill Joker you need to kill Batman as well, the represent good and evil in there purest forms; and one cannot exist without the other.
That's why in all the years of comic books Joker is still alive. Burton only really killed him because he's not a fan of the books and doesn't know the symbolism of the character.

Yea.. plus, if he dies, it does go against what Batman stands for. Thats the only real gripe I've ever had with Begins. He let Ra's die. Although, if you read the book, you know he's still alive.. but regardless, now if another villain kills him.. well, I don't see that happening, The Joker is and always will be the #1 single worse baddie around.

lol It's not the amount of villians, it's how you use them. B&R sucked because it was poorly done.. Plain and simple. If Bane had been true to the comics, if Freeze spoke actual lines instead of just puns, if Ivy was written better and acted by anyone else, and if Schumacher was replaced with a good directer you know we all would have loved the villains in that movie.
And yes, Crane returns for more carnage, but he's rumoured to be in more of a cameo than a major role.

I like how Crane is coming back, they do it in the Comics, so why not the movies?
