Other thoughts for Leslie could be Judi Densch (maybe not she's too recognized for 007 movie), and stretching maybe Karen Grassle or Meredith Baxter (Little House and Family Ties) but they might be able to pull it off.

As for Catwoman, I think what would be cool is to shock Batman and have Catwoman look like Rachel Dawes (maybe Christina Ricci or Drew Barrymore)batman

I adore Christina Ricci, but I don't know about 5'1" actress playing the female lead in an action move :/

The same thought crossed my mind about Judi Dench.

I have an idea for The Penguin for Batman 3, I think this characterization should be done like B:TAS having Penguin run a night club and look somewhat normal and not deformed as in Batman Returns and the perfect actor for this type of gangster like role would be...JOE PESCIbatman

NO!! NO...NO...NNNNOOO!!!!!

The Penguin being deformed is what makes him CUTE!

And JOE PESCI is the opposite of Ozzy. Joe Pesci is UGLY. NOT CUTE. NOT ANYTHING BUT A BIG STINKER!

Good god....why would anyone cast Joe Pesci for a Batman movie?

NO! It's just WRONG!!!

JUST NO!!!

I'd get Danny Devito a second time before casting someone like Joe Pesci.

Danny Devito has more charisma and acting skills to be Oswald Cobblepot than any other actor. EXCEPT for the late Burgess Meredith who was the ORIGINAL Penguin in the '66 Batman TV Series.

Other than that, the ONLY other actor I would give the role to would be, Philip Semorehoffman.

ANYWAY....

Just leave the casting of Ozzy to me, okay? I know what I'm doing!!

Now, I could see them do Firefly!
Arsonist, armoour, and all that . . .

But, he was already used in Batman:Gothan Knight (the animated film from the BB/TDK world), so I'd not see him as likely as I would otherwise.

@Erin...Pesci for Penguin for one reason HE's BETTER than Devito and besides DeVito's version is DEAD, besides the deformed version would be taking a step back to the past and we Batfans want to look into the future.
@Matt...I like your idea for Lee Merriweather for Leslie Thompkins and for Firefly Giovanni Rabisi, have him work for Penguin to destroy a competitor's nightclub.batman

Buckeye, Pesci is retired. He's not coming out of retirment for a Batman film. You'd have better luck resurecting Heath Ledger than getting Pesci to play Penguin.

Firefly wasn't in Gotham Knight. The first segment was an original villain called "the Man in Black", the second and third segments only had mob bosses, segment four was Croc and Scarecrow, segment five had no major villains, and segment six was Deadshot.

I thought the man with the flamethower and jetoack on the skyscraper was supposed to be Firefly.
Also, they made a figure of Firefly for The Dark Knight:

@Tartan, you never know maybe they put the character in the film, but didn't name himbatman

Depicting him the way they did in BTAS would be pretty difficult in a Nolan movie. In BTAS he's such an over-the-top gentleman character, he'd come off as cheasy following Heath's Joker. In my opinion, he should be a bit more of a mob-boss than in BTAS.

I think I'd go with Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He's got the acting chops to be a legitimately menacing bad guy while at the same time subtly displaying Penguins blue-blood characteristic wiht out making him a cartoon character.

Sounds interesting Raz, then maybe bring Bane into it but not as the monosyllabic musclehead like the way they did it in Batman and Robin, make Bane a bodyguard for Penguin and the reason he's nuts is because of steroidsbatman

I like these ideas about Firefly a lot. I don't know how they would use him without disappointing you on a more over-rated villain, it's like using Livewire for a Superman reboot kind of.

I could see him doing a GREAT job! He is an actor that is known mainly among movie buffs, rather than the general audience. Yet, most have seen him many, many times. He is the type of actor that Nolan would use! Also, he is physically built right w/o being extremely short or fat. He could be a GREAT Penguin!

Penguin and Black Mask as up-and-coming mob bosses, to replace the ones killed off in TDK, could be the movers and some of the other characters could be great "muscle"-type specialist characters, w/o diminishing them notably (unlike in Schumacher's films).
I could see Firefly, Bane, and a pile of other "masks" as agents of character bosses fighting one another, as well as Batman. They should be cast as intelligent, rather than morons. Bane in "Batman & Robin" actually Bad Word Here!es me off quite a bit. I mean, Bane is quite intelligent and ins able to manipulate his "employers" to his own will and advantage in the comics, as well as in BTAS. He is scary in part BECAUSE he is quite smart, as much as size (plus he operates under a "different" moral code, due to being raised in a prison system from birth).

I TOTALLY agree that Phillip Seymour Hoffman would make a GREAT Penguin. yes Phil is a great actor and I think he would do well in the role.

I just need to be notified ASAP by Christopher Nolan when the time comes for Penguin to be in one of the films. Because if anyone is going to act opposite the Penguin, even if it is for five minutes, it's going to be me. XD LOL!!

Anyway, this is just my opinion, but trying to outdo Heather Ledger's performance is kinda stressful isn't it? What they need to do is to keep the story line going and maybe step down back to Batman Begins film level. I mean you don't want to put too many eggs in one basket and then drop the basket and break all the eggs.

That's what happened before. Tim Burton's 2 Batman movies were great and then the next two were a flop. And if anyone as a problem with Batman Returns, I'm going to start chucking eggs from the basket that got dropped when they made Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Bat-Fans are freaking picky, you know that. Am I the only one who didn't have a problem following Batman Returns?

I must be crazy then.

Anyway...back to Nolan's films. What they need to do is have two good villains as well as a supporting cast that have small cameos throughout the film who make the two villains look good, like keep the audience interested in the movie. I'm starting to favor the Riddler as being one of the two villains.

I think Black Mask would be really redundant after Two-face... Seriously, a guy with his face chared into basically a skull? Remind you of anyone?

I say if we want two mob bosses, use Two-face. He's technically not dead until someone says so on screen, it would be easy to say Gordon faked Harvey's death at the end of TDK.

Anyway, I think mob bosses aren't big enough to be the main villain. The whole purpose to TDK was to show the change-over from mob-bosses to freaks, so someone like the Riddler would be more appropriate in my opinion. Plus, after Joker you're going to need someone BIG. Basically, there are four people who can follow Joker: Riddler, Penguin, Two-face or Catwoman. I say, use all of them if you can. Penguin will fill in Falcone/Maroni's space as the non-supervillain, Catwoman would be an ambigous ally, Riddler would be the mastermind and Two-face would mostly be a cameo until the end of the film.

Riddler: Daniel Day Lewis
Penguin: Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Two-face: Aaron Eckhart
Catwoman: Charlize Theron (or Marion Cotillard)

Raz, you just gave me an interesting idea for Batman3: Edward Nigma is a newspaper reporter that gets his stories anyway he can whether ethical or not and finds out that Bruce Wayne's newest arm candy Selina Kyle was once arrested for being a cat burglar and blackmails her into helping him find out anything he can about the newest club owner, Oswald Cobblepot.
Oswald and Edward have a past because it was Edward's investigative reports that closed down Oswald's night club when they were in another city.
What Selina finds out is that Oswald's club is being bank rolled by Harvey Dent
Harvey finds out and goes after both Edward and Selina, all the while trying to get revenge against Batman
That's my Newest story and I'm sticking to itbatman
