Batman Begins was great movie, last Batman movie sucked so bad. The Dark Knight needed a reboot and Chris Nolan did great job bringing Batman's origin on big screen, story by Goyer & Nolan was amazing than you have great actors such Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Micheal Caine and Cillian Murphy working around Christian Bale. Bale was great Batman/Bruce Wayne but his Batman voice needed little work, Gary Oldman was just made his own character that's how Lt Gordon should be.
Katie Holmes was good as Assistant DA but I thought she was too young play DA and I was bit upset Harvey Dent wasn't in BB now Dent replaces Finch as Gotham's DA in TDK also can't wait for The Joker as well.
Superman Returns was good movie and Bradon Routh (Spelling?) as Man Of Steel I thought he did great but the story lacked specailly Lex Luthor's plans wasn't good as Ra's Al Ghul in BB. Kate Bostworth as Lois Lane she was great I didn't like her being with Richard White she's Superman's girl.

My opinion
SR was terrible to me for 5 reasons
1. get someone that looks remotely like Cristopher Reeve
2. obvious CG at points of time
3. almost carbon copy of Superman 1
4. no supervillans, I mean what, we pay our money to get lex to think superman to death!?
5. THere was NO WAY that superman could of had a child with lois considering that he was human at the time with no powers when he slept with her, and besides, a super powered child is the dumest idea that i've come along in a while.
SR ruind the character for me.
in my opinion BB was a thousand times better.

haha "think superman to death"
i'm betting u saw the youtube toy thing, marvel vs. dc.
being a batman fan, i'd say batman begins hands down...superman returns wasnt that bad though. but what's with all these super heroes getting illegitimate kids? first superman in his new movie, now batman in the comics...what happened to the morals of these guys?

not saying that they shoudn't have kids, but it makes no sence for Supes to have a child with superhuman powers considering he was human at the time he consepted the child.
yes I saw the Marvel vs DC, but I thought up the quote first.

i'm sure supes still had his kryptonian genes in there...
i would have been ok with it if he married lois first. but i guess having an illegitimate child makes him more "human."

as much as i like begins (a hell whole of a lot!), i love returns even more. the characters were just beyond what they would be like, so that they are like the character yet have something to add. and theres nothing wrong with routh being like reeve, that was the casting crew's point! |

I think Superman Returns was not a great movie. I think Batman Begins was a great film and Batman really needed to have a new director. Although I thought Tim Burton did a great job, I think both Tim and Chris Nolan made it there own Batman. That's why the movies were great! |

batman begins was much better than superman returns
i dont think bryan singer is a good director compared to christopher nolan
Dick saw being Robin as a thrill. It's probably why he outgrew it. Jason
saw Robin as a game. It's probably what got him killed. But... Tim... I
have to hand it to the boy... He wants to be the world's greatest
detective. And from wht I've seen so far... he will be someday.

I hate these threads. I HATE 'EM, I HATE 'EM, I HATE 'EM!
Batman Begins was a great film while Superman Returns was a good film. I expected Superman Returns to be what it was; just like the first X-Men. In fact, I told people on dozen of threads that it was going to be that way. And you know what? They didn't listen to me. Because of that, it's their fault, not the movie.
I don't get why people make these threads. Batman Begins and Superman Returns have many things in common:
1) Both are relaunches with the films relating back to the previous franchses.
2) Both are introductions to the world(s).
3) Both had less action and concreated on story, since it was the beginning of a new series.
4) Both franchises are based on today's comic books.
BTW, I like the son part. Much like Lois & Clark/Superman being married, it's something that mkaes the characters connect to us that I don't understand why it's bad. Hating the film because of just THAT, means you shouldn't even say things about the film at all.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

THe son thing is pointless, the ONLY "Son" supes had was Superboy, which was a clone of him uing a hybrid mixture of Supes and Lex Luthour's DNA.

haha, well here's what i think they could do...make the kid still be a hybrid of supes and lex, but some how processed/born through lois. creepy, but i mean lex is crazy/insane enough to do something like that.
that way, the kid can be superboy...but then again. that might just mess the character up too much, so i say ditch the idea.
anyways, comparing superman and batman is like comparing vanilla and chocolate. some people like one over the other...some people like both. some people dont like either. it's all preference i say.
