First of all, he was crap in B & R, because he whined and moaned for the whole film.
But in Forever, I thought he was great. Perfect age, build, and acting skills. Robin made so much more sense to me because of him. He was a perfect mixture of all three Robins from the comics and I thought that that was great. I loved the costumes in both films (if you'll ignore the nipples) especially the one in B&R because, for once, a Robin costume actually looked threatening. I think Chris is one of the people who suffers the most thanks to Schumacher's films because everyone judges his performance in B&R which was probably influenced by the awful script.

i dont like O'Donnel, never did. i also didnt like how they took different aspects rom the different Robins and mixed them. i have said this before, he played Jason Todd with Graysons backstory. i thought O'Donnel was a bad choice from the start, he was too old. it wasnt believable in alot of the scenes that a guy his age would act the way he did. the prime example i always use is where he is fighting that "neon" gang in the alley, Bats shows up and he starts to hit him like a 10 year old girl. just throwing his arms at him. a guy that age would throw a punch or something else. look at the way he fought the gang, all of a sudden he forgot those moves? i would have liked to see at least a teenager play Robin. O'donnel also played him with such a c@ckiness, it was iritating, thus the Jason Todd aspect. granted Grayson had some moments in his past but not like the way this Robin acted. just a total disrespect. with B&R, it was over the top. suddenly he wants to be an independant hero with his own signal in the sky. he's tired of living in the shadow of the bat? you only had about 15 minutes of actual screen time in costume with him. my main problem with the Robin character in this one is that we never got to see the "dynamic duo". suddenly in the next film after the character is introduced there this major trouble with their partnership. again, a Jason Todd aspect. most of this is script. but because of this i dont think O'Donnel was the right choice, and he should have realized it, but with most of the cast of these films, the actors never really got their characters. now, with a good script, and properly written characterization, i think it possible he could have done a Nightwing. we'll never know.

I pretty much agree with Gothamite on this one.

One of the original choices for Robin at one point was Michael J. Fox. Can you see Marty McFly as Robin? Damon Wayans was also in the running for Robin at one point. I seem to recall a picture of him in the Robin costume for some reason, but don?t have one on file. I do recall when the new Robin suit (Tim Drake) came out DC (I think) published a photo of a live actor in it for the media. I think that O? Donnell did a decent job of Robin. Most Batman Fans don?t like Robin for some reason, so it would be tough for any actor to take on the role.
What I did not like was the costume. In both films it was too far off the source material. In Batman Forever it was way too dark and just ugly. In Batman and Robin he wore a Nightwing costume, while it looked better, it did not look like Robin.

He was a little too whiny and childish I suppose. Too old to act that way. Otherwise there were some positive aspects I'm sure, they just don't come to mind. For the sake of realism, it could be acceptable for Batman to have a Robin that old, just not to try and fit him in the same skin as the teenage comic book Robins. I don't have a real clear-cut opinion on his character though anyway, just because I'm really not into Forever or B&R.

Yea in Batman and Robin I agree! That was more of a nightwing costume than a damn Robin outfit even though it looked cool. Even though the traditional colors were kept for Robins costume in Batman Forvever, I dont like they way it was designed and I understand how people dont think Robins costume in the comics is intimidating but if it done the right way (which we still have yet to see) in the movies it will look great and I know they can do it!

i liked him as robin in batman forever. he was pretty good. i just wish hed been a bit younger.
chris in b&r reminded me of jason todd...well...jason todd's mind stuck in a 20 year old's body. lol. thats what kinda made me mad. robin was being so gay..lol. but the costume was really cool. it looks sorta like the costume in current nightwing comics.

I love the B&R costume, mainly because I hate the costume in the comics anyway. The only Robin costumes I ever liked were the costumes in the movies and in TNBA.

Know what's funny? In the B:TAS episode "Christmas with the Joker", Robin talks about how much he loves the movie It's A Wonderful Life. I read an article in a movie magazine that had 10 celebrities talk about their favourite Christmas movies, and Chris O'Donnel said It's A Wonderful Life is his favourite movie of all time.

Seeing as though it's an entirely different series of movies and the little ol' fact that Chris O' Donnell is four years older than Christian Bale, I highly doubt that Chris will ever get to play Robin again.
