Just an inquiry into the Alter-egoes of these two figures.

1st - Is Future Batman Terry McGiness? There are similarities, from the solid black facemask to the pop-out wings. But if I am right in thinking that the figure was released before Batman Beyond was made, it can't be, right?
2nd - I thought originally: Is Flight Pack Batman also Terry? But looking at his facemask, he seems to resemble Jean Paul Valley more, and considering that there are four other figures in the range that are based on Paul, this could be a perfectly acceptable option.

Anybody have any ideas on this?

1. This topic is about Action Figures, so it belongs in the Action Figures & Dolls board. No worries, friend. wink

2. Always feel free to reference images from our archives.

Yes, you're right; Legends of Batman was much earlier than Batman Beyond. It went from 1994 to 1995. Also notice that LOB focuses on comic book style looks. Many of which were actually used in Elseworld stories while others were most likely designed specifically for Kenner's action figure line. I'm pretty sure that Future Batman and Flight Pack Batman were of those designed for the line and not featured in any comic books; although Future Batman could have been...

In any case, Legends of Batman has nothing to do with any animated series. Bruce Timm designed the Batman Beyond costume presumably toward the late '90s, and most of the LOB designs were probably created by Kenner's "house" team. But I see what you mean by the resemblance in masks; nice observation. They're all great figure designs and I'd still like to get me a Flight Pack Batman someday.

I was sure I posted it in the correct place. Ah well, sorry bro.

I got my Flight Pack Batman unboxed in a huge collection of 30 plus Batman figures, 4 Batmobiles, the Forever Batwing and an Aerobat I got from an ebay seller who's kids had grown out of Batman and onto Star Wars. It had all of it's accessories and I only paid ?7.50 for the lot of them. Ebay is a goldmine for collectors.

Wow, sounds like an awsome deal. I don't find too many auctions with everything complete like that, but sometimes I get lucky. I still need the Batman Forever Batwing though...

I know it's UK based, but it's only ?3 to post worldwide, just over $5 by my estimation

EDIT: actually, there is some damage to the figure. more than likely easily restored, the hard part would be to find the right paint colour. Probably not worth the asking price though.

Yes, I agree with Caleson. The Legends of Batman Future Batman was 1994 and Legends of Batman Deluxe, Flightpak Batman was 1995. The earliest Batman Beyond figures were 1999, so I think it was more circumstantial that they have similar qualities.

I?ve read a few of the Elseword?s comic books that Legends Of Batman and Legends Of The Dark Knight figures were based on and I don?t recall any specific stories that featured Batman looking like that.

There was few things Caleson did not mention.

1). Future Batman had two versions. One with the Bat Logo on the chest of the wing attachment and one without.

2). While many of the LOB and LODK figures were reused in the Warner Bros. Stores line of figures Future Batman, Flightpak Batman were not.

3). Due to the Hyperposed sculpts, Future Batman is one of the few that fit in the Batmobile from that line.

Here?s a look at some of my ?Legends? figures.

Future Batman is bottom row center. There are two Flightpak Batman figures (one with pak on and one off) in the second row, just behind Dark Rider Batman. The Batmobile for that line is the silver one just above the BTAS Batmobile on the upper shelf

The figure has a Blue Metal Vac paint job on it. ?Blue Chrome? if you will and would be hard to restore. It also looks to be missing the silver ?gun? thing that came with it.

I probably shouldn't be bidding on stuff right now, but thanks anyway, Etrigan. I may get him someday. That metallic blue was just so appealing to me as a young lad. Smile

Nice display there, FlaBat. I always felt that movie colored Batman on a purple Batcycle was very out of place in the LOB line, but most of the other figures are pretty cool.

Why, you've even got Skeleton Warriors. I never had the figures, but I enjoyed the cartoon. I got some SW figures and accessories from my friend recently. I might use 'em for customs.

The Skeleton Warriors I have are a matched set. Like the Star Trek figures Playmates produced, Skeleton Warriors had serial numbers on their feet. All of mine have the number 20. Action Figure News and Toy Review had a contest where you answered some questions and sent in a 3X5 Index Card with your name on it. There was no limit, so I set up my PC to print out a couple hundred cards embarrassed and sent them in groups a period at a time. :p After I won they made all contests ONE ENTRY PER PERSON.mad
