Check out these links, which a friend e-mailed to me:

Most of these are great. Brainiac is exactly what I was hoping for, the Terminator-style version, which I've always felt was his best incarnation. Azrael is awesome, as is Darkseid. This also seems to settle the identity of Batwoman once OYL hits. Superman and Supergirl don't look too good, though. The Mr. Freeze repaint is awesome, he looks like he did in the comics about a decade ago. The Joker repaint is okay, but I'll stick with the previous version. Batgirl is great, too. I almost never buy figures anymore, but I'll pick up most of these.
*edit- We'll host the pics, before to long I'm sure thhose links will go down...lol

Damn, those look pretty nice. The repaints are great too. With those orange pants and green accessories, The Joker reminds me of Knock-Out Joker via Dark Knight Collection (a figure I still long for). And both Batgirls look excellent.
I like that retro stuff. Seeing Braniac, Darkseid and Luthor in those styles reminds me of the Super Powers Collection. Superman looks great too with that big ol' cape. I had a feeling Supergirl would look a little too brute, like the DC Direct version.
These would have to have appeared in a recent issue of ToyFare Magazine. I'm behind by two issues (brother's got 'em though), so I would hope they were.

Are Mattel and DC Direct trying to compete with each other? Probably not since Mattel makes thousands more figures, but they are making some similar things to come out a few months apart.
The Batman looks like it is based on Frank Miller's art in he first issue of Dark Knight Returns, especially the jaw. Very nice looking figure. Hopefully the final product looks this good.
That Batgirl is awesome. She has this great, "I'm going to beat the crap out of you" look on her face.
The Batwoman is sculpted well also. For my comments and theories about it being called Batwoman go to the comics forum. This one looks better than the First Appearance figure that came out a while back.
Azrael we've seen before, and the others are repaints.
I am not totally blown away with the Supergirl and Superman. They are done really well, but I have the Superman that I really like, and I don't know if my collection needs a Supergirl (it will probably get one).
Brainiac is really cool. Looks like there is a little more detailing than the upcoming Crisis figure.
Darkseid is a must have. I really hope he comes with the motherbox that he is holding.
Lex is cool too. This line is really harkening back to the Super Powers stuff. It will be a nice figure to pick up.

What's with the powder-blue on Batman, Batgirl and Darkseid. It looks awful. They should've gone with black or midnight blue at the lightest. And why did they give the Joker orange pants?
Marge: Homer, I've got someone here who can help!
Homer: Batman?
Marge: No, a scientist!
Homer: Batman's a scientist.
Marge: It's not BATMAN!! |

Oh my goodness! Those look so awesome. Batman and Batgirl are on the top of my list. The Joker looks a little weird with those orange pants though.
When are these coming out?

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're awful, but I agree. The powder-blue is a little lighter than I'd prefer. Darkseid especially could've used a darker shade. Although, if you've got a steady hand, there's always customizing. The sculpts look excellent, and make 'em worth buying.
Superman & Supergirl are apart of Series 2, Mr. Freeze & Azrael are Series 3, Batgirl & Joker are Series 4, and Darkseid, Brainiac & Luthor are Series 5. Not sure if that Batman is "Battle-Damaged" or "Stealth Jump", which are Series 3 & 4.
I really think the orange pants on Joker are neat. They're different, yet fitting for his colorful appearance. Here's some examples of cool, orange-pantsed Joker figures:

The ?Baby Blue? Batman has to be darker, but it looks to have a ball joint head and hinged torso rather than Attack Armor and the new Batman ball joint one. The same for Batgirl, I like that one too. I could live without the repaints of The Joker and Mr. Freeze. The others look great.

That does sound like the typical bonehead Mattel move. I hope not, though. They've gotten off to a good start with this line so far.

Yeah, I sure hope Barbara isn't a chase, she looks so great.
The blue on the Batman could be a little darker I suppose, either way I'm happy with the way he looks.

I would guess that either Batman or Batgirl (Gordon) would be a Comic Con Exclusive. I?d rather see that than them be a Chase figure.
