Reasonable?
Those are (for the most part) within retail purchasing levels for those, in many cases LESS.
Yes, reasonable, go back and read the first post again.
“For the first twenty people that donates $10.00, you get your choice of a comic signed by J. Torres, or Scott Beatty. you'll also receive a copy of the comic "Ninja Scroll" By J. Torres and a Batman Begins Mission Folder.
For the First ten people who donates $20.00, you'll get A Batman Begins Mission Folder and your choice of a DVD.
But that’s not all! If you donate anything, you’ll be entered to win:
The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight
(Updated Version)
Batman Begins:The Visual Guide
The Batman Strikes: Duty Calls
A Mini-Copter AND 3 DVDs of your choice!"
What does a Comic Book cost these days? Now think about what an author/artist signed Comic Book is worth? Are you telling me they are not worth $10.00?
Also consider for a moment that most DVD’s are around $19.99 to begin with so a $20.00 donation is not that much to ask is it? Especially when you get a chance for a raffle for another great prize.
The objective here is to raise money for the site and help with the move to a new Dedicated Server, which will only make the site that much better. In the past we’ve asked for donations with little or nothing in return. Now we are offering some great prizes so what is the hold up?

50 bucks gets you an RC mini copter, God knows how much those cost; one of those binder things; two DVDs, most of which are in the $40-50 range (most are DVD collections and not stand alones); plus Flabat throwing in an action figure that can go for more the $20. That's around a $120 value for $50.
I'd say that's not reasonable, it's a steal.
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

(Flabat, thanks. That was my point.)
What is being asked is WELL within reason. The "gifts" are worth the same or more than the donation level.
(I'm not sure HOW Chris is able to do this, but that really isn't any of my business anyways.)
The $$$ is needed for a particular reason, allow a dedicated site.
This IS a "good cause" and for the common good of "Batmaniacs" everywhere, which is to allow this database (which it is more than a forum) a longterm home that will be able to handle the traffic level without crashing.
I believe that this is a worthwhile use of my limited funds, any extra "benefit" (comic book, DVD, or the like) is icing.
I was the first to hit the "donate" button, only looking at the second part (DVD) after asked which I would like.
I didn't realize I was the first (not really important), nor did I expect a couple bumps to be needed and a few pleads before someone else hit "give." I expected to be well down the list (and most of the original 10 DVDs to be long gone-> why that was secondary/lower when I gave).
Now, there is another on the list that is on my "to get eventually" list, but can't really justify it right now (tight in funds-> the 1/50 Batmobiles I had ordered before Christmas and forgotten about have appeared and charged as shipped, wiping much of "Daddy's fun money" budget and I don't want to take the kid's $$$).
I'd like to give more, but present (and unexpectedly) unable.
(Really, I had COMPLETELY forgot the 1/50 preorder and have been running to Toys R Us and Walmart, finding nothing, to get at least 2 each of the 66 Futurabat, BTAS, and comic book cars.)
**Depending upon what shows up, I may be looking to trade away some Batcycles and/or Tumblers, as neither thrills me a whole bunch, wanting at most one of each. Based on what I've seen, I want more of the comic book car than I originally anticipated-> many conversion ideas!
Edit:
Milezone's box showed up:
3 Comic Book
2 66 TV show car
1 66 TV show bike
2 BTAS
-> I'm happy.
Still, YET to see ANY at retail. I saw an empty peg at Toys R Us today, as I got the 60s cartoon Speed Racer cars (1/43, plastic bodies, $2.99/each) for my kids.
Sum Nox!

I don't suppose you'd accept a Check or Money Order. I've had bad expieriences with Pay Pal in the past. |

I guess I misunderstood, but I'm glad we're on the same page now about the Donation Drive.
I'm looking for a Tumbler or Comic Book Batmobile, I'd like two each too as I display them front and back. so if you get extra's look me up.

I just want to thank those who have donated. I should be able to send out your stuff this week!
Also, I want to say thanks. Some sites ask for money and don't give you a reason why they need it, I mean, why would a free site need money?
I'm honest and open, a dedicated server costs lots of money and it just proves, we are.. the largest Batman site out there!

You forgot "and the best"
I've not yet posted on this thread - but if anyone is reading this, for all the difference my thoughts make, anything you can offer would be welcome. Imagine no BYTB!

Here's an update on the donations.. sice last weekend, they have kinda gone dead. SO.. for ever ten bucks you donated, you're entered into the drawing. If you donated 20, your in the drawing twice, 30, 3 times.. so the more you donated, the higer your chances of winning the grand prize..

Guys.. I wanted to remind you.. if you can not afford to help through a donation.. PLEASE, use the Amazon store to purchase ANYTHING.. it doesn't have to be Batman related.
Also, please click the Google ads.. each click makes us money!
Thanks!!

Chris..
Got my DVD set yesterday in the mail, and just wanted to say thanks! A great set of DVDs, and the chance to help out a great site; well, that's a win-win in my book! I wish I had the financial ability to donate some more!
PS...when is the drawing for the grand prize? Will there be a special thread for it or will it be announced here?
Oh, sweet Jesus. It's the goddamn Batman. |

I'm new here and still lookin around, getting my bearings. Your site really looks great. I see that no one has really posted on this donation thread in about a month and I was curious to see if you're still at halfway. |

We need about 200 to meet our goal. But we're doing ok. If we get the 200 we'll be set for the rest of the year.
Thanks for asking and Welcome!!
