Over the course of the last few months, I have been reflecting on different aspects of my life -- Meaning priorities, family, and the website. One thing that has been constant is that ever since I relaunched Batman: Yesterday, Today, & Beyond in 2003, I have spent most of my time building it up. At the beginning of 2006, however, I decided to expand and go beyond the world of Batman. Wonder Woman was to be the next big site to tackle. Then I decided to open up DCU: Yesterday, Today, & Beyond. In three months time, I had practically forgotten why I had started BYTB.

When I first opened BYTB, it wasn't because I wanted to be the best. It was because there was information out there that should be on a site. I wanted to know more about the character that I loved so much. I never thought that BYTB would be the largest; I never thought it'd be anymore than a Geocities website.

Over the course of time, however, we did grow and now have the biggest toys, action figures, character profiles (once they are done), and media archives on the net. I took pride in knowing that thousands of people visited something that a couple fans put together.

I knew that expanding was a big step, but in retrospect, I was not ready for it. While I am pleased with the amount of attention others have given WWYTB, I haven't given it the attention that it deserves. I went straight to DCUYTB and didn't look back. There have been weeks that I wouldn't even go to either site and just focused on DCUYTB. I guess a part of me grew tired. You can't run a major website like BYTB with only a few people.

I've always wanted to make all of the YTB sites the best they could be, including upgrades in both hardware and special sections like the forums. However, in the immediate future, I will be turning my focus back to BYTB. The other sites will not be closed; in fact, I am looking for people to help run them. But I feel that, at least for right now, I need to focus on one site only. BYTB has not been receiving the behind-the-scenes attention it deserves, and I have decided to fix that. Along with this, sections like Character Profiles and the brand new Media will be up and running as well as the resurrected Voice of Gotham forum.

In the end, all that matters is that I am doing something I enjoy; that others are, in fact, enjoying it; that I know I am doing the best I can to bring you the best.

Chris AKA Beyond

On a side note, The Voice Of Gotham as been re-opened. Please use it for any Batman talk once again.

On a second note... DCU will be shut for the time being, TVOG and BYTB is once again the MAIN site. All threads are still here, and you can talk abut all of the DCU here!
