yeah, that could be pretty cool, but i prefer fighting game style. i wanna beat on every marvel character with batman. hahaha. actually, i'd love to see batman as an unlockable character in a tekken game or something. i LOVE the fighting engine in tekken.

yeah i agree, i wouldnt want it like spiderman, where you do the same thing in between story lines. but just being able to free roam and drive the batmobile to your location, or go to bruces mansion whenever to change vehicles, acessories, etc that would be ultimate gameplay to me. Joker3

yeah a new justice league game would be ideal for the ps3 or xbox 360. they really need to utilize the consoles engines to bring us a great dc game. graphics, gameplay, story. i think they should get fans input on games before they make them, then kinda go from there. yes

I know this is old news, but I figured I'd post it anyway. Here's a look at MK VS DCU's Batman:

http://www.batman-on-film.com/MKvDCU_batman_6-4-08.html

And here's a look at the Gotham City and Batcave stages from the game:

http://www.batman-on-film.com/MKvDCU_batcave-and-gotham_6-10-08.html

Batman and Gotham both look pretty cool; Batman's suit has that cool lining on it that makes it look high tech, and Gotham has sort of that nostalgiac Burton inspired look from the Ninties. The Batcave, on the other hand, looks a little too Schumacharian for my taste.

i think the batcave is fine. i'd say it's more along the lines of The Batman, then schumacher. and i like batman's look; it's definitely inspired by the likes of jim lee and alex ross, and even the dark knight with the armored look going on...well maybe more of batman returns, but it has a spark of dark knight in there.

my question is though, why would there be a fight in the batcave? batman invites the mortal kombat contestants and holds his own mortal kombat tournament? hahaha. a contest to be the next robin.

Well, for those of you who don't know, the entire MK Vs. DC roster has been announced.

DC Universe:
Batman
Superman
Catwoman
Green Lantern
The Joker
Shazam/Captain Marvel
The Flash
Wonder Woman
Deathstroke
Lex Luthor
Darkseid

Mortal Kombat:
Scorpion
Sub-Zero
Sonya
Jax
Shang Tsung
Liu Kang
Raiden
Kitana
Kano
Baraka
Shao Kahn

Not too bad for Batman fans, considering 3 of the 11 characters are Bat-related. Still, I imagine some will want Robin or Nightwing. But personally I'm fine with it. Lex Luthor's appearance is kinda weird, I imagine he'll be in some robot-like suit like say from Public Enemies. I imagine if this game does well, we can expect more games to come with bigger rosters.

at one point robin was confirmed, but i guess they took him out since there were too many bat-characters.

it's a shame cuz it would have been tim drake with the bo staff. dang it..and i'm sure their design for him would have been really cool too.

This is such a wacky concept, like those you'd come up with as a kid (Star Wars/Batman crossover comes to mind). I love the old Mortal Kombat titles but haven't been keeping up with recent releases - I think MK4 was the last one I played - but I am pretty eager to play this new game. The roster choice is good and screens I've seen look awesome. I can't have high expectations, though, simply because of all the mediocre or bad games that come out. Big properties like DC are far too often given bland video games and I half expect that to happen again.

With the violence toned down, it's hard to imagine how some of the MK signature moves will be executed. Scorpion's spear for example, impales his opponent's chest. Maybe it will serve more like a grappling hook and wrap around a limb. And how is Baraka going to use those 2-foot long blades? The decapitation and impaling they're notorious for will probably be compromised to the abilities of a small hand knife. The special moves of characters like Green Lantern and The Joker should be pretty cool though.

By the way, for those who don't recall Sunsoft's Justice League Task Force, maybe this will refresh your memory. I've played the game just a bit on a ROM and wasn't thrilled; although, the graphics and backgrounds were good. I might try it again someday.

The Justice League battle their greatest enemies... Themselves!!

Sorry, I've been forgetting to post news on this game...

Anywho, they recently revealed that while DC Heroes don't have fatalities, MK characters and DC villains do.

I've seen a video and... Well I'm kinda unimpressed by Joker's move set and animations, and the controls looked kinda clunky because even a member of the production crew had some trouble pulling of Joker's moves.

As for finishers, I read that the DC heroes will have Brutalities. If I remember correctly, that's when the attacker simply beats their opponent like crazy but doesn't kill them, like an insane move combo.

I had a feeling the controls and animation might have problems. That's too bad. I do think this sounds cool:

"During fights, characters will show permanent signs of damage, such as bruises, blood marks, and broken or torn clothing pieces. For example, Scorpion's mask will fall off if hit in the face many times."

Basically, it's about a martial arts tournament where people from Earth have been chosen to enter a strange "realm" to compete. Most of the Earth characters are good guys while many of those from other realms are like villains. They all have backgrounds which are tied into the game story, but you don't really need to know them to enjoy playing it. Stylistically, the earlier games are famous for their extreme violence and digitized sprites (actual photographed martial artists made into characters). You can learn more on Wikipedia:

It's been months since the game came out and I'm curious if anyone here got it. Did you like it? Did you hate it? I want to know what people think.

i like it. prefer batman obviously. i was scared he would be too boring since he doesn't have powers, but it turns out he's one of the best. he's a big combo character.

but i have to say..with street fighter 4 out now, i'd much rather play that. lol.

my friend has both games, and we just play the 2 games for hours. hahaha. gotta love the fighting games...my only wish now is for a street fighter vs. justice league; they announced it before, but it got scrapped! i'd love to see a batman in sf4 style.
