Patience, grasshopper...these will be everywhere in a few weeks, once the scaplers have had their fill Smile

There have been rumors that it will be shortpacked, but I quite honestly can't see that happening. Mattel must have sank a lot of money into this project to get the license, the tooling, etc., and they're not stupid: they're going to get their money's worth out of it. I think the "shortpack" rumor is just to get more $$$ out of unsuspecting eBay buyers.

This is at the front bottom of the car you mean, right? Below the lights? Just checking.

Thanks Spencer1984. I forgot to ask you a question regarding the packaging variantion. Do you know if for the packaging variation(1 verison saids "1966 TV Batmobile" and the other saids "TV Batmobile" ), if 1 car variant belongs to 1 packaging variant, and the other to the other, or is it in either style packaging?

For example: The smooth grill can only be bought by getting the packaging that saids "1966 TV Batmobile" , while the Honeycomb texture grill is only from the "TV Batmobile" packaging, or can either car be in either style packaging?

Just wondering if we're going to be having 2 variants, or if we're going to be having 4 variants is all(Because of the packaging variation. I'm not counting the Barris seal and autograph verisons in this, since those will not be in retail).

At this point, I think there are so few out that no one can tell for sure. From what I understand, the early release packaging all has the same type of car in it: so there might be two or three versions, depending on what comes out later.

I waited last saturday in line at my local K-mart. Got ticket waited in line, never called my number and I did not see one 66' batmobile in any cases. I will still be on a prowl for it. But refuse to pay hundred of dollars for some jerk who hoard it all then selling it on ebay. That's just me of course.

I have some Hot Wheels package variations to mention regarding all of their 2007 releases(Which also includes the really late 2006 releases) for the 1:64 scale. 1st off, Wal-mart(At least in Canada) has some random Hot Wheels cars in a carded 3 pack for around $4.99(I think that was the price, I'm not sure now). Don't know if these 3 packs will have wide release or not. There is a small chance that some of the Hot Wheels Batmobiles could be part of this 3 pack, so keep that in mind whenever you go out, as well, the cars are just ramdomly inserted in(So one 3 pack could feature both black and gold Comic book and 1960's T.V. Batmobile with a Viper, another could have just 1 of those Batmobiles with a truck and van, etc).

As well, at a Loblaws store(A Canadian gorcery store, with some of them selling toys), according to my bother when he went there today(Thursday, February, 15, 2007), it appears that some of the current Hot Wheels 1:64 scale releases were inside a smaller carded packaging as well. He compared a vehicle with a normal/standared 1:64 scale packaing with this smaller 1 and they were the same toy with colours, package art style, and everything. For this smaller style packaging, just think of the standard 1:64 scale packageing, and cut it in half horzontial. Using the top part as the card, paste the car and the bubble it's in on the top half, with the words and # of the car on your right, and there you have it. While he didn't see any Hot Wheels Batmobile/Batman related vehicles, there is a chance that Hot Wheels may release their 1:64 scale Batmoblies(Black and Gold Mattel comic book, and the 1960's T.V. Series) in this smaller style packaging as well. The 1:64 scale smaller size packaging Hot Wheels cars cost the same as the 1:64 scale normal size packaging cars. Again, don't know if these smaller style packagings will see a while release or not.

Wanted to inform you all about these package variations, so that you guys can keep an eye out during your hunts, as well as incase any of you guys are package vairant nuts, or you perfer a style of packaging as well.

I stop by at local Target store, trying my luck to see if I will get my hands on the 66' Bat, but I saw a johnny Lightning 55' Futura. It's the batmobile, however, it is close as I can get one right now. Since the 55' Futura was the model for the 66' Batmobile. I am still on the prowl...

I just caved in and purchased one of these on ebay for $14.99, hell I've spent that much on gas searching for it. For some reason my area is 1-2 months late on receiving new items. embarrassed

I know that it's out now in Canada(Because I've now seen a bunch of Hot Wheels 2007 First Editions between 01/36 to around 01/28), but I have yet to seen the 2007 First Editions 15/36(The # for the Hot Wheels 1960's T.V. Batmobile in the 2007 Frist Editions). I know I will eventually see and get 1 for myself(I would more perfer the texture " Honeycomb " verison), but it does kind of disturb me that I see a whole bunch of the other 2007 First Editions(10, 20, event almost 30 of each 2007 First Edition toys) but have yet to seen even 1 1960's T.V. Batmobile.

In the meanwhile, here are 2 links from Hollywood Die-cast, which shows you the difference of the 1960's T.V. Batmobile grills, with the 1st showing you the smooth grill, and the 2nd showing you the texture grill:

Yes, these are currently available in stores now. The only trick at this point is to get 'em before the scalpers. They're packed in cases that also include the black Buick Grand National, the red Shelby, and the white Firebird. If any of these are hanging on the pegs, you know a Batmobile might be nearby as well.

Holy Hot Wheels Batman! They arrived today. I picked up three of the TV Batmobile #15 of 36 off eBay. All of them are the ?mesh grill? version, which is what I wanted anyways. I figured I would have been outbid, but won all three on low bids 5, 6 and 8 bucks and change respectively. Just over $11 each with shipping. I burned up more than that in gas just looking these past few weeks.

Its typical Hot Wheels quality, although I think they shine just a bit more than the average Hot Wheels car. The level of detail for a car so small is nice too. The compass, Batscope and ribbed roll top dash are all there. The seats are classic Ford low bucket models and there is even a little inner door panel detail too.

I?d swear on the one I opened it looks like the drivers side tail fin is just a touch lower and wider off the centerline than the fin on the passengers side. It may be an illusion as on this car the drivers side fin has the red stripe on the edge (so it can be seen topside) while the other side the stripe is below the edge on the side.

Still an awesome car and I hope to find a couple more at retail one day.

Iggi if and when I find more 66 Bats
I'll keep you in mind for one...
Keep looking on E-bay too...
I have seen prices at around $5.00 and $4.00 shipping...
It could be a good thing if you want to save on gas...
Look at it like this...
You spend 1 to 3 hours hunting for the little Bat...
Your time costs money and time is valuable...
So... Give in to a good E-bay deal and who cares
what anyone says about how you got it...
I just got lucky...
I tell you this I was looking real hard after the
first three and I still have not seen anymore
until the toy show...
At the toy show the guys were selling them for $5.00 and
I then did my trades...
I'll check tomorrow during my lunch break...
Wish me luck...
