what is your one favorite super hero collectable/toy and or Comic?
I know this is a hard , but if you could only choose 1 of your favorites what would it be?
For me its dang hard!!!!!
If I had to choose one toy it would be the Mego Batmobile and Comic would have to be Batman # 315.

That is the first Comic I ever got and still have. My brother got it for me at a local 7 11 if I am not mistaken.

My favorite toy would be the 1966 Corgi Batmobile...
My Favorite comic book, Gotham By Gaslight... Or was it the Detective Comics run of the Norman Breyfogle Era in the late 80s early 90s...
Ratcatcher, Chemical Man, and all very cool Batmobiles...

Favorite toy is a tough one. I would have to go with my Super Powers Batmobile (must include the Batman and Robin figures though).

Favorite comic is probably tougher.
There is the first Batman comic that I bought (click for review):
Batman #430

As far as story, I just read:
Batman #423

This is a really great story showing Batman from the perspective of 3 cops. Two kinds we are used to, but the third is one that we rarely see in the comics and may surprise you.

I'm not sure what my favorite toy is, but for comics I'd have to say the "Made of Wood" story from Detective #784 - #786:

Batman works with the Golden Age Green Lantern to catch a serial killer from GL's old days. Great writing, great art, and the way Batman and GL work together is perfect (a personal favorite is the scene of GL giving Batman an edge in the parking garage). |

I would've posted in this thread a long time ago, but I just can't pinpoint my favorite piece of merchandise. It's funny that everyone names a Batmobile because some of my very favorite toys from "back in the day" were the Batman Returns Batmissle and Batman Forever Electronic Batmobile. I just couldn't get over the coolness of the Batmissle's break-away feature and the Electronic Batmobile's blue lighting.

Sky Escape Joker was always a favorite figure of mine also. The pink colors may be way off, but his gun, helicopter back, and of course color-changing feature made for an excellent toy. I'll never forget finding him out in the grass on Easter. Today mine's pretty beat up with no accessories, not even his glued-on coat tails. ::yellowsmile::

I have too many Batman toys to pick just one. So I?ll have to say ZOOB is my favorite toy. No it?s not a Superhero Toy.
What?s ZOOB you ask? ZOOB was a building toy, like LEGO and was made by Primordial, but it was not blocks. It used five different ZOOB Units (that came in mostly primary colors) to create all sorts or things from Zoob Dude to dinosaurs, birds and even vehicles when you used the wheels that came with some sets. I once made a Dimetrodon and a Winged Dragon that were over 4 feet long. It?s a great toy to kill time with your kids building things on a rainy day. Sadly, ZOOB is no longer around. It was marketed in high-end educational retail stores in the late 90?s and only mini version ZOOB ever made it into Target. They won Toy Awards, but never caught on and have since faded away to be found on eBay from time to time.
If I have to pick a Superhero kind of toy it would have to be the original 1966 GI Joe I had as a kid and still have. He?s still in an Astronaut suit, but the one I had as kid peeled the silver Mylar off and I painted it silver (probably with Testors). I replaced it with another better original suit many years ago. My old Joe put up with a lot, he still had electrical tape wrapped around some of the joints that split with hard play.
Favorite Comic book is also tough because I have a few hundred still, but I have to say Superman: Speeding Bullets an Elseworlds story always seems to stick out. It?s a what if Superman and Batman were switched kind of story that I always found interesting.

Favorite Batman action figures: I have a lot, but the nods going to my Batman Forever figures. I got them for my B-day, a Guardians of Gothem City 2-pack along with a Riddler & Two-Face 2-pack and a Batwing. Those figures were so cool, the face sculpts were spot on, they had cool dynamic poses, they were exceptionaly durable, and it was the first time I had a properly colored Batfigures. I wish I still had them, but I gave them away a few years ago when my Batmania had died down. the only problem was that it took a lot of effort to get the Sonar Batman into the Batwing.
Comics: I'd say my Long Halloween and Dark Victory compilations.
The one that got away: In 2004, before I knew Begins was in works, I came across a 1/18 scale hot wheels Burton Mobile; unfortunatly my Batmania was almost dead and I didn't buy it, then one day I decided to watch 89 Batman. Afterwards my Batmania sparked back up and I decided to get the car, only to find it gone. Ever since then I wander aimlessly about the antique store, praying to see that toy again...
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

My favorite Batman item that I own is not actually a toy but it's a melmac plastic plate from 1966 with cartoon graphics from the TV Show. This is the only item in my collection that I owned as a kid, my grandma gave it to me when I was very very little. It originally came with a bowl ( Joker graphics ), cup ( batman & Robin ), fork, & spoon ( metal w/ embossed Batman). I've acquired the other pieces over the years except for the spoon!
I need / want the spoon!

We have a thread for this, but it was in the Other DC Toys, Merchandise, & Collectibles board. And make sure if you're referring to "toys" in general, and not action figures specifically, to use the Batman Toys, Merchandise, & Collectibles board.

It?s really tough to pick just one or two things. I guess I?d have to say the older things are the most dear to me, especially the things that survived my childhood to this day.
These are the Aurora 1:24 Scale Batmobile Model Kit and a Husky 1:64 Scale Batmobile I had as a kid. Both worn and beaten, but they bring back a lot of find memories of playing Batman from a more innocent time. The glassware too, I drank a lot of milk out of those.
The Rich Man?s Toys Batmobile (with Zipline Batman to show how big it is) is still my single most expensive Batman purchase. I bought it from a Comic Book Store and the owner Steve (I found out later) had bought it for himself, but told his wife it was to sell at the store. I think I paid $349.00 for it back in the early 90?s when it came out. Seems Steve figured nobody would pay that kind of money for something like that. Nobody except me, LOL. I think I saw it on the second night he had it at the store and his wife was so excited when I bought it. As far as I know he never got another one.
The Corgi Batmobile # 267 was something I longed for when I was kid, but never got one. My former supervisor gave me the one from his collection because he knew that I would provide a good home to it. It took nearly 40 years for me to get one and it was well worth the wait.

I no longer have most of my toys from my childhood, so my favorite Batman things from my collection are all from recent years. My favorite just might be my First Appearance Batman. I have a lot of issues with the quality of most of what DC Direct releases, but this figure is great. It's a perfect representation of the 1939 Batman. The look is truly unique, and it's one of the few figures I still have displayed. It's always a conversation starter when people see it.
As far as my all time favorite toy from my collection, it would be one of my old Masters of the Universe toys. I love 'em all so much, though, I can't choose only one.
I've got thousands of Batman comics, so it would be pretty much impossible to choose just one favorite story from all of them. But one of my most prized comics is my copy of Batman #234, Half an Evil. This story featured the return of Two-Face back in the seventies, after an absence of about two decades.

It's a true classic, one of the few issues that featured writer Denny O'Neil, artists Neal Adams and Dick Giordano, and editor Julius Schwartz all working on the same story. It's a significant, and damned expensive, comic. I got it purely by chance in a lot of comics I won on ebay about 6 years ago. I paid about $5 for a dozen Batman comics from the seventies, and this was one of them! I still can't believe the luck!

No, the figure can?t go in the Batmobile, there is no interior. I think it?s 1/10 scale it?s a super sized R/C car. I ran it outside when I first got it, but it?s been on display ever since. There was an optional light kit and a cocoon carry case for it, but I never got those for some reason.

My favourite collectibles are things that pertain to Catwoman and the Carrie Kelley Robin. I also wish I had my old 1966 Corgi Batmobile around; I loved that toy dearly!

Nice, I've always wanted to pick up one of those Richman Batmobiles, but I've never come across one that I could afford. Maybe some day. And an Aurora bat, too? Very cool!

I had to drive it outside due to the size and speed of the thing, I also put two dimples (with the tail fins) in the living room wall when I backed it up to quick.

Favorite action figure- DC Superheroes Scarecrow figure. After years of wanting a comic style scarecrow figure, the Four Horsemen deliver.
Favorite comic- Batman: Shadow of the Bat #13 "The Nobody". A great one issue tale that shows a human side to Batman.
Favorite storyline- "Hush" A great tale that brought Jason Todd back from the dead. |
