No, it is not coming next week, but Jim Lee has posted a sketch of a full page on his MySpace Page.

Check out the art HERE

Miller's cover art is... well... not making me look forward to the issue. He should probably leave attractive women to Lee. I wonder what type of silliness Batman will place upon little ol' Richard this time. Still trying to force him to eat cave rats perhaps?

Given how the rest of the story has been flowing, it will be 20 or so pages of Diana contemplating what to wear when she goes out to the job that she hates, eight pages of Robin internal-monologuing what the rat tastes like, and Batman swearing twice. Just a guess.

Wizard Universe has posted the interview with Jim Lee that they included in a recent issue of Wizard.

It actually pretty funny because it references Issue 5 as if it has already been released. There are no real spoilers though.

I only bought Number 4 so far. I?m not thrilled about the script, but then again I?ve only read this one issue.

The Batcave pull out alone was worth it for me.

CLICK HERE to read an interview with Jim Lee that discusses why the book has been delayed so much.

Basically thie summarizes it:

NRAMA: Prior to this, you did two virtually on-time runs on Batman and Superman...what made those runs so different from these? What makes that Jim Lee different from Jim Lee, circa the waning months of 2006?

JL: I think getting Batman: Hush and Superman: For Tomorrow out on time made me a bit overconfident in what I could handle workwise and taking on the DC MMO project is what broke the camel's back. Too much work, too little time and way too many covers for other projects. Saying 'no' isn't as easy as it sounds, especially when you have a lot of good people who are your friends asking you for a favor here, a favor there. I guess I would ask the fans a favor and ask for a bit more patience. I know it sucks waiting for comics you love and want to read. It pains no one more than me not being able to deliver. But again, it's going to take time. Two pages a day is my max speed and that's really burning the candle on both ends. And that's when I have the opportunity to sit down and draw. I just want the retailers and fans to know it's not because I don't care or that I'm lazy.

That was the feel-good story of the year! I'm on an all-rat diet now. I only eat normal white lab rats, though, not those nasty cave rats. I guess I'm kind of a poser like that.

I generally like Frank's art a lot, but these last few years, it's like he's just trying to make every woman look as skanky as possible.

I called the DC subscription office because I got a letter about All-Star Batman and Robin and they said the last issuee for that series will be issue #5 after that there will be no more All-Star Batman and Robin. As for All-Star Superman and Wonder Woman they will still come out but they are not taking new orders for them. So issue #5 will be the last of ASB&R.

So it looks like no more All Star Batman.

Drunken Fist wrote:
I don't believe this rumor for a moment. The book sells too well for it to be cancelled. Most likely, it just isn't going to be available for subscription anymore. It may even get put on hiatus until the current arc can be completed, or possibly relaunched. But a book that sells this well will almostg certainly not be cancelled.

Where is that quote from, by the way? It's tought o take a random quote from God-knows-where for the truth, without any confirmation.

Nate wrote:
Consider it a rumor with a grain of salt.

So I guess we can lock this thread since there is no source and it is considered a rumor?

I'll lock it in two hours unless someone tells me otherwise...

DC has made no announcements about cancelling orders in the vendor newsletter that I get. They usually make a big announcement about things like this, and they just within the last few weeks announced the release of issue 5 for February.

I forgot to check the shipping changes on my DC weekly newsletter and missed that they have again changed the in-store date for All Star Batman and Robin #5. Current in-store date is April 4.

That is ridiculous, alomost a year in between issues! DC really needs to put the book on hiatus until the rest of this storyline is in the can. Or Didio needs to get some balls and fire Frank and Jim from the book unless they can start delivering in a timely fashion, starting immediately. I don't normally get bent out of shape over a delay, but this is just pathetic.
