USA's like that.
we use inches, feet, miles, fahrenheit, lbs, oz, etc. lol. but no one else does. but i think we're trying to use more metric stuff cuz in school, that's all we use.

I use so many English (ironically called that since they don't use them in the UK anymore) units for so long, that I have a really hard time visuallizing most complex metric units. I'm an engineer so it comes up pretty often.
I picked up Action, Countdown, Detective, and the JLA/Hitman issue. If you guys have been a bit hesitant about JLA/Hitman, give it a shot. It's only 2 issues, and is really fun to a fan of the old JLA team from the late 90's.

My 4 reviews for this week are all set up. Questioning one of them though. But we'll see.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

I'm picking up Gotham Underground, Superman, and Wonder Woman. I may pick up Green Arrow/Black Canary, but I really don't need another title added to my pull list.
I am really excited about Gail Simone's run on WW. She did a great job with Birds of Prey so it will be interesting to see if she can breathe some new life into the pretty stagnant Wonder Woman series.

1st post updated with comics for 6th Feb 2008 folks.
I know Chris didnt get last weeks comics up til the day they were out. Apologies for delay. I usually pick this thread up but (for want of a better way of putting it) it was a really bad week.
Lots of trades to tell you about; Unquestionbly my personal recommendation of the week is Superman Chronicles Vol 4. If you've never read the Man of Steel from his earliest days you should. This stuff (along with Kane/Finger Batman equivalents) is a 1,000,000 miles from the characters we know today, but these early DC stories are the roots of us being fans in 2008, waiting for the big new movie, this website and me typing this right now. This precious stuff is where DC began.
Out of the piles of Batman/DC books I own, the Hardbacked Batman archives are amongst my most precious. I'm not made of money and so for Superman I have to do the sofcover Chronicles (they're massively cheaper) , and I'll definitely be picking that up.
Anyway, excitement over - here's what we got.......
BATMAN: FALSE FACES Written by Brian K. Vaughan; Art by Scott McDaniel, Scott Kolins, Rick Burchett, Marcos Martin, Karl Story, Mark Pennington and others; Cover by McDaniel and Andy Owens
Don't miss this hard-hitting volume from award-winning writer Brian K. Vaughan (EX MACHINA, Y: THE LAST MAN, Lost), collecting Batman #588-590, Detective Comics #787, Wonder Woman #160-161 and Batman Gotham City Secret Files!
In the first of these tales of the DCU, Bruce Wayne adopts the guise of Matches Malone — the seedy identity he uses to infiltrate the Gotham underworld. But when Matches is shot, it's up to Batman to determine what really happened…and how Scarface is involved! Plus, in other stories, Batman takes on the Mad Hatter, and Wonder Woman and Donna Troy square off against Clayface!

DIANA PRINCE - WONDER WOMAN VOL 1
Written by Dennis O'Neil & Mike Sekowsky; Art and cover by Sekowsky & Dick Giordano
In this volume, featuring stories that have never been collected before from issues #178-184 and SUPERMAN'S GIRL FRIEND LOIS LANE #93, Wonder Woman faces Mars, god of war, the murderous Dr. Cyber, and more!

SUPERMAN CHRONICLES VOL. 4
Written by Jerry Siegel; Art by Joe Shuster, Jack Burnley, Wayne Boring and others; Cover by Shuster
The Man of Tomorrow moves into the 1940s in this fourth volume, featuring stories from the pages of Action Comics #26-31 and Superman #6-7!

SUPERMAN: 3-2-1 ACTION
Written by Kurt Busiek and Mark Evanier; Art by Steve Rude, Rick Leonardi and Brad Walker; Cover by Rick Leonardi and John Livesay
Will Jimmy Olsen become Superman's new partner in the battle for justice? The secrets of Jimmy's past are revealed in this volume collecting Superman #665, Action Comics #852-854 and Legends of the DC Universe #14!

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL VOL. 6
Written by John Byrne, Jim Starlin and Dan Jurgens; Art by Byrne, Jurgens, Arthur Adams, Ron Frenz, and others; Cover by Jerry Ordway
The series collecting the 1980s origin of Superman continues in this volume collecting SUPERMAN #12, SUPERMAN ANNUAL #1, ACTION COMICS #594-595, ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #1, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN ANNUAL #1, and BOOSTER GOLD #23!

Apologies for delay folks - this weeks comics will be done tonight. Detective 842 & Nightwing 142 (amongst others) are out.
I'm gonna start a new thread with effect Mar 08 as this one is getting a bit clogged up.
Later (gotta go to work)
