"War Games" the crossover hitting all the bat-books last fall changed several things in Gotham and for the Bat-family. Now throughout the month of August the truth behind it all is revealed in "War Crimes." This 4 part story is weekly going through Batman and Detective Comics.
Part 1
Detective Comics #809
Stephanie Brown was stable and in decent health when she arrived at Leslie Thompkins' clinic. Someone in that clinic caused her to die. Leslie is missing and the duty nurse has been murdered.
Part 2
Batman #643
The Joker has returned, and tries to kill Black Mask impersonating Batman. Batman stops him, but both escape. Commissioner Akins is blamed for the gang war, as is reporter Arturo Rodriguez. Batman scours the underworld to try to make some sense of the situation.
Part 3
Detective Comics #810
Coming August 17, 2005

Pretty good story, lots of turns, but whethe or not this will redeem War Games is yet to be seen. So far it is better.

indeed it does, and id love to check it out for myself but i cant seem to find the first part lol. i wasnt able to pick it up last wk when it came out so i fugured id get one and two this wk. however the hadnfull of local comic shops nearby all seemed to have sold out of part one. i got #2 but i dont wanna read it until i get the first one. the big shop that i go to always has enough of anything so ill checfk them out next wk.
but by the synopses uve given us DK, it seems this miniarc is going to be quite a good one and i look forward to it.

Who is the question marked man?
Spoilers, this is your last chance.
Arthur Brown, the Cluemaster, better known as the father of Stephanie Brown, the Spoiler/Robin IV. Took Batman a while to figure this ouw because Brown is supposed to be dead. He died in a Suicide Squad story 2 or 3 years ago. Now he is getting back and Batman for letting his daughter die. However he isn't the one who sent the tape to Bruce Wayne's home for Batman to see the show talking about. It hasn't been revealed who know's Bruce's identity.
The Joker is after Black Mask for killing Robin. Joker says that is his job. Black Mask has also been dressing up as Batman and killing people. He attacked Crystal Brown, Stephanie's mother, on live TV. Batman stopped him from killin gher, but this probably sulllied Batman's already messy reputation.

No, but my money is going toward either Joker or Arturo Rodriguez. Joker because, well... he is the Joker. Rodriguez would need a martyr to really make the Gang War the thing that he wants people to see it as. He knew about Stephanie's injuries and could have gone to the clinic. Batman may have even told him where he was taking her. It seems a little too late to slip someone who hasn't already appeared in the storyline, but I guess we'll see next week.

DK's theory about arturo is a pretty good possibility i think. i figured it cant be the joker since as stated he was going after blackmask for "taking his job" but then again maybe he is the one but is upset since he didnt get credit for it? also since hes been the focal point of so much as of alte, do u guys think its possible that todd/hood might have anythign at all to do with this?
