I have read
Batman Chronicles ( collection of early batman comics)
Batman Child Of Dreams
Robin II the Funniest thing happened
Superman Batman 1 and something else

That's about it so any suggestions

Yeah, you definately can't go wrong with:

Batman: Year One
Batman: The Man Who Laughs
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: The Killing Joke
Batman: A Death in the Family
Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying
Batman: Hush
Identity Crisis
Batman: Under the Hood

Those are the very basic foundations of modern Batman lore. Start with those and then branch out from there. It's technically skipping A LOT of years there in the middle but you can come back for those once you're hooked ;-)

Yeah, definately check out the BYTB Amazon link. You can usually find all of those Trades for a decent price AND you'll be helping out YTB! Smile

Another good place to scope out for deals would be your local used book store. They sometimes have a selection of used graphic novels for a pretty decent price.

OK i was on batmantrades.com and i picked the essentials option it did not include the man who laughs. Actually it doesn't include it on the site at all. So do i still get it, or not and just go from Year One to Long Halloween or something.

I would also add The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller as a must have. The follow-up Dark Knight Strikes Back is only so-so.

Also a quick way to get up to speed is the "Batman in the ..." series of trades. "Batman in the Sixties", "Batman in the Seventies", and "Batman in the Eighties" contains some of the best stories and artwork from those decades...

Sorry About this but is it possible to continue without reading Batman & Son, black glove, RIP, and Final Crisis. I do not own them but I once went to a bookstore for about an hour read through Final Crisis and a bit of RIP. I think I should get Batman and Son it's just I don't want to buy anything that I don't need to. And also is identity crisis entirely Necessary.
My Sibling works at Barnes and Noble and can check out Hardcover books. And another one of my relatives is a librarian. So I could possibly just borrow the books or get my sibling to check them out from the store.

Actually, with the relaunch in September, you might not need to read anything from before.
