Me and my friend were discussing Batman's costumes. When we got to HUSH, are discussion led to color as to we weren't able to agree on what seemed to be the right color pattern for his costume.
At first I thought it was black with blue lightning on him kinda like BTAS JL/JLU and TB. But then we thought it could be black with purple highlights, then it was changed to blue with black highlights. Then with the toy version of HUSH Batman, it led to us thinking that the costume was actually blue.
What do you think it is?
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

I believe it's blue, since the toy is. It's kind of like B:TAS, sometimes I wonder if it's blue or black, but then I remember that the toys are black so I think that really confirms which color the suit is.

Batman's costume is supposedly black, but the color black is traditionally highlighted with blue. With improved coloring technology that became standard in the '90s, this was no longer necessary, but some colorists still prefer to color it that way. Looking through different Batman comics that are released in a single month, some will have a Batman whose costume has blue highlights, and some do not. It's all a matter of the colorist's preference, I suppose. Personally, I like it to be solid black. I didn't buy the hush Batman figure because it was blue and gray. (Well, it also has wonky thigh articulation and thighs the size of refrigerators, but the color was the clincher.)

Yeah, I'm not too keen on the Hush figure. Too rickety. I do have it standing up in my room, though.
Anyone who knows me well enough on these boards will know that my answer to this is that the blue highlights should be black, and so should Batman's entire costume! I do think it can look cool even in the pages of a comic book.

This has been disputed by fans for years. I'd say his costume is black with blue highlights, just like how they give black hair blue highlights. I really like the blue highlights rather than just plain black. May not be easy for real life, but it works well in comic books.
I agree, the Hush action figure does look strange. If you look at the blue highlight Batman typically has, it's sort of a light blue. Highlighting the black it looks great, but as a stand-alone color covering his whole costume, not so much. And all-over black would be a little boring, and inaccurate in a way, so they just go for an in-between color by giving him a dark blue.

I guess it is black. I found in BATMAN issue #445 Alfred asks Bruce if he should pack a grey and black suit. That comic was drawn and colored by Jim Aparo and Adrienne Roy, and Batman looks very blue like the HUSH Batman. So, I guess he is supposed to be black.
