Ok,I got alittle full of myself after the "Inked Superman" thread(People said I was Jim Lee and Andy Kubert put together) that I posted so I came back with the "Prepare to be Amazed" thread, and it didnt go so well,so this is my comeback,I call this piece "Justice League Shadows".I hope everyone likes it,and yes I am open to criticism,so if ya got any pointers tell me. Oh and I just drew my favorite five members. LOOK AT SUPERMANS HEAT VISION READY EYE,HE SCARY PEOPLE.

I might as well get this off my chest,I am 18 years old and I just started buying comics as of May 2006(yes laugh).I had never heard of Jim Lee or any other artist (except for Todd McFarlane) ever before in my life until May of this year.(still laughing I bet)Never heard of Hush or For Tomorrow, nothing,so for my artwork to be Jim Lee ish so fast is pretty good by my standards. Yes now I have a big collection of comics due to me doing research,I have X-men issue 1,Hush,For Tomorrow, all of the All Star Batman and Robins,so now I finally perfect. Im laughing as Im typing this, its funny but true.

That's pretty nice. My main point of productive criticism is that you'd probably want to define the faces of the angled heads a little more (Flash and Green Lantern). Namely, you could emboss the eye brows and cheek bones a bit. Batman's chest and shoulder seem to go down pretty low, too. You should be able to see the bottom of his pectorals. I like the detailing on the other characters' necks though.

You may not be as knowledgable as a super-fan, but since you're passionate enough to join our forum so soon after discovering all that stuff, I'd consider you just one o' the boys.

Eh... I'm a casual fan to, I've never really collected comic books, mostly because I can't find a damn comic shop in this one horse town; well I can find one magazine shop that has a lot of comic selections that are up to date, but the owners are chain smokers, so everything smells nasty.
I didn't know Jim Lee by name until resently, but I've always liked his work without having a name to go with it.

I bought X-Men issue 1 at Midtown Comics in NYC and it was only 5 dollars, and its the Gatefold cover special edition version with the addition art in the back. The most expensive back issue I have is Detective Comics #578 from Sept.1987(Batman Year Two - Part Four)which was 8 dollars.
My Wonder Woman is kind of cute, think I'll draw her again with her lasso or something

You might want to remove those strands of hair on the left side of her face (our left), they clash with her face and draw to much attention away from her eyes. You might also want to round out her jaw for a bit more of a feminin look.

Nice work overall, I like the composition here.
Funny, I didn't really start "collecting" comics until a few years ago. Before that I'd just pick up a few now & then, but after a while things began to snowball and I now have enough to consider it a legitimate collection. Sooner or later, the collecting bug gets everyone |
