Yeah, Heromachine is pretty fun, but the guy who made it took a couple of years to actually get it running, So BYTB would have a lot of trouble making one that stands up to the compition.

And there is actually an even better Heromachine out there, but you have to pay $20 to get it.

So MacWage, I'm going to go out on a limb and say your of Scottish decent.

Uuuuhhhhh, COULD be . . . wink

Actually, the names I have been able to trace are 1/4 German and the rest are Scot. The portion I tend to favor in looks and temperment are 100% Scots (from Newberry, South Carolina).

A machine like that would be fun. I did those in fairly short order (it pays to know the characters very well and know what your looking for. The others were created for a kilt forum (X Marks the Scot), where I learned of the program last night.
Let's say, it is HIGHLY addictive (as are kilts).

The Batman one will be my avatar (at least for a while). I always love putting Batman in a Kilt. (Bruce is named after Robert the Bruce after all).

I like the old style Joker! You could easily imagine him sauntering into Cy Tolliver's bar in Deadwood and throwing some dice about! And then shooting someone whilst cackling!

Wicked!

Are those kilts not a touch short??

On the joker, I agree. I like the unhinged version with a HECK of a sense of style. BTAS has a VERY good rendition of the character.

As for the kilts, they are about a knee-cap worth short, as the "tartans" are a bit over simplified for my taste. BUT, HEY, it's FREE (but don't yell that word too loud among Scots, it will cause a riot and stamped) and ACTUALLY HAS KILTS!!!!!.

That's pretty cool. Thanks for bringing this up, MacWage. As for BYTB having one, that'd be great, but I can't imagine getting a nice program would be easy. I'll definitely have to tinker around with one of these sometime.

As it came up and is (semi) relevant:
The traditional kilt measurement goes up to just above the belly button (which hides a gut VERY well) and down to around the knees. The actual bottom length has varied somewhat and varies from bottom of knee to an inch above it. Some will doggedly argue that is shoud bisect the knee. However, I like mine to be at the top of the knee to slightly above it.
So, the heromachine has the kilt too low at top and too high at the bottom.

A "modern" kilt, like the utilikilt, sits at the pants belt line on top and is roughly the same at the bottom.

Hey, I have opnionswink. My hobby/side business is as a kiltmaker. big grinbig grin I made "traditional 4-yard box pleats":p. I am working on my website, so it is not up yet. If interested, PM me.

Speaking of kilts and Batman, have you seen Detective Comics #198 - "The Lord of Batmanor," circa 1953? big grin I remembered it from The Golden Age of Batman: The Greatest Covers of Detective Comics from the '30s to the '50s. Neat ol' book.

I ALMOST used that cover as an Avatar, but thought it would be too small.

Also, Bruce Wayne (but not as Batman) dons a kilt in Batman: the Scottish Connection mini-graphic novel. It has him as the descendant of a Sir De Wayne norman noble (with a touch of Douglas lore stolen and mixed in) and (the fictional) Clan MacDubh on his mother's side.
MacDubh means "Son of Black" in gaelic.
