You know.. I was almost ready to post pics of my displays.. then my wife...

It's really not bad. See, I made my computer desk out of an enterinment center. because it's located in the front room. She got the top and I had the sides and the middle.

I finally got my displays made and the desk looked nice. Then.. my wife...

Really, not bad. She said..

"If we can find a place for my angels on the top of the desk.. you can have it.."

I was speechless. Truly.. my mouth dropped and I was in awe..

So, we got home, I went to the garage and found every peice of scrap wood I could find..

Well, two days, two 2X4's, one peice of Plywood, 30 strips of metal, some black fabric and lots of magnets later...

It's not done, I gotta paint the sides, I need to rearrange some figures, I need to open a few, then I need to figure out somehting for the side I emptied off.. by the end of the week, I'll have something figured out and I'll show you the entire thing...

(now she's talking to putting up Holiday fabric! BYTBBigeek )

It's really not hard, I wish I would have take progress pics. I made two threefoot sections, screwed em together to make one LONG 6 foot section..

Tools needed:
Power Saw
Hand saw
Drill
Level
Hammer

I would love to build one of these for someone. I am not a carpenter. This thing is not "Perfect" but I loved making it!

That's pretty cool, especially since you built it yourself. The black fabric is a great idea, not only because it looks nice but also because you can vacuum whatever dust settles on it. Dust also probably won't be nearly as noticeable as it would on a solid wood surface.

The angels of course let any visitors know that the owner of these figures is married. rolleyes They really aren't too distracting though.

That border is coming down.. (but another girly one is going up.. embarrassed)

But yea.. I love this and would gladly build one for someone if they want one! (though building, labor and of course shipping would have to be involved!)

I totally missed this Tread too. Nice job Chris. It looks like I might have inspired you in the way you set it up with the black steped display look.

The use of fabric is really cool. I was going to use a Batman themed fabric for the back walls of my bookcases. I even bought a whole bolt of black fabric with yellow Bat Logos on it from Wal-Mart. I ended up scrapping the idea when I realized most of it would not be seen behind my stands. I’m now thinking of walling in a window with plywood and using that fabric to cover it. Then I want to mount my Bat Gadgets on it.

In any case I have almost all of what you have but I did see something I had not seen before. Right Side Top: Batman next to Batcomputer on the right side of the picture. What is that?

Very Cool

Wow, cool collection. Do you use that computer? Ha ha, I'd be scared I'd accedently hit something that'd cause a figure to fall. That, and I'm scared to put up any kind of collection like that because my 7 year old demonic cousin visits me on a regular basis...if you catch my drift.

Yea.. thats where I do all my work!

The figures won't fall, most are glued to magnets. The DCUC are using the new Mini-Mags. So unless my kids jump up and down.. they are sturdy!
