Knowing QT and his film's:
My ONLY question is . . . Will the Batman be blasting a gun????
A RETURN to the original comics of 1939/1940 . . .
Batman SHOTS the bad guys and drives them OFF cliffs to their watery graves!

Actually, after reading the chronological collection, vol. 1, I could REALLY see him DO THAT.

Thanks! For some reason, the idea of a QT Batman movie amused me, and I love the "200 MPH" tagline with the 'mobile.

I hadn't thought about that, but you're right - a really early story could actually work here. It would have to be one with the Joker, though...imagine the monologue that he could have in a Tarantino film.

YEAH!!

I'd love Tarantino to have a shot at Batman - I think the guy is amazing. I think he is amongst the most talented film makers ever; and I don't say that cheaply or lightly - I've considered what I've just written to be the case since Pulp Fiction was created, it's an absolute masterpiece that ranks 2nd only to Star Wars as my favourite ever film (after that you've got the rest of the original trilogy, Batman Begins, LA Confidential & Reservoir Dogs). There are Tarantino films that I'm not so keen on, but even then he nails the setting, dialogue, mood etc quite perfectly. I've not yet seen Grindhouse (it's not out here til 4/7/07)

He's probably not as hot as he once was, but he doesnt seem to do a great deal these days, and I've always suspected that Tarantino would have a go at a brilliant book called No Beast So Fierce, but so far he hasn't (maybe it's because he's good mates with the author, dunno). Tarantino Batman would be cool!

And yes, you guys are quite right - I don't think he would go for a Nolanesque type movie (Lucius Fox's high tech gadgetry, the big Batcave etc), it would be very much an early Detective era Batman, when he was more of a caped crimefighter than a Superhero, maybe even with a red coupe. (although that's obviously slightly at odds with Spencer's excellent poster).

I love the idea......

I'd imagine it would be somewhat like Miller's "Year-one" screenplay (the one where Batman wasn't a millionare yet).

And as for the Joker monologue, thet would be magnificent!

Just a thought, but . . .
Wouldn't it possibly be A LOT like ThrillKiller, only with a better car.

The Thrillkiller Batmobile was a black 56/57 Vette with red side scallops and interior. There were fins on the rear fender and black wings on the scallops. The "hood ornament" was changed to a black bat.
A model conversion would be VERY easy, actually. Add the fins and the rest is paint (only a little if the base model is a die-cast of the same colors).

I would like the Barrismobile better in that particular application.

Here is the above-mentioned Thrillkiller car. I think Inzo did a conversion a while back, actually.

By the way, feel free to post images from the site here. I don't consider it hotlinking on this forum.
