Well the first thing is the cave walls and platforms and such. Cave walls could come from existing playsets like Batman Forever’s huge Batcave or Toy Biz’s Batcave from 1989, but they could be expensive and hard to find even in a used incomplete state.

Second choice is kids pvc sets of cavemen or dinosaurs that have cave walls or mountains play pieces that can be repainted and reused. Imaginext had some great older playsets with rock walls that snapped together and they would be cheaper and easier to find.

Third choice is Model Railroad Tunnels. Any decent Hobby Shop will have Model Railroad mountains and Tunnels. Usually they are Styrofoam and real easy to cut and glue together and repaint.

Fourth choice is wire mesh and paper mache (sp). Very messy but you could custom make your own.

The platforms are easy enough. Use the wire mesh desk and folder organizers that can be found at Office Depot, Office Max or Staples The black wire mesh looks great as grating and they easy enough to trim to size with tin snips. Look to construction playsets for girders and “riveted” beams and such to mount the platforms on, again Imaginext had some great playsets with lots of pieces to use.

The Batcomputers could come from any existing Batcave. While all the former Batcaves were scaled to smaller figure you could still use the computers in your new cave and they would not look too small. Otherwise look to other things like Art Asylums’ Star Trek Enterprise figures. Some of them came with a bridge piece that included computers and a bridge chair with the captain. These figures were almost as big as MM and DCUC as I recall. Look also to other Sci-Fi playsets and spaceships and you might find computers there too.

That’s a good start be sure to update us on your progress
