hey guys here after four days i finally finish with my shadow tek ultra batman. the base is a shadow tek ultra "ninja warrior batman" and modified it a bit, first i remove the gunlets, then i cut and glue the spikes on to the arms, then i remove the head using the "boil-and-pop" tirck. then i repainted everything (i repainted over the bat symbol so i won't have to make a new one). the belt is made from vinyl and i use a small round piece of wod which i cut out and later glue to the belt to like the capsules, then i glue it to the body and painted it, after i finish the body, belt, and head; i made the cape, the cape is made from a batman begins chrismas stocking i bought, i cut out the cape then i measure the cape to the figure then sew and cut the "wings". then i glue the cape around the neck of the figure and put the head back on the body. i must say this is my first mayor repaint of a figure i ever did and i like very much, of course there is some paint rub but with the cape i don't notice it. i like it lot and he fits very well with robin but with batgirl she is a little small but i don't mind. in the end this is a great figure and im happy to have it in my collection.
ok here is some i did of my batman:

Awesome job. I like it a lot. I hope Mattel makes a normal Batman like that in that size.

That's really cool! The only problems I can see are the way the cape wraps around the front of the neck and personally, I wouldn't have made the cape quite that long. The neck could probably be fixed, maybe by adding some Sculpey around the front and painting it black as if it was part of the cape. But everything else looks pretty good. You should be proud. thanks guys, i have to admit this was my first repaint of a figure before. when i buy a figure i had always hoped the toy company (i.e dcd, mattel) would have done this or that with their figures but they never do. i like how some customizers would repaint their figures from small paint jobs to big full body repaints, so when i get my figures i dont because i don't like to mess with it but with this one i had to repaint it because this is just a cool figure and who knows when mattel will come with a figure like this. again really like how this one came out and i hope mattel can make one just like this very soon, like this year. big grin

Yeah, most people use acrylics like Delta Ceramcoat. I've read that you should avoid enamels which are typically used on models. Personally, I've never tried them on figures. An example of a popular enamel brand would be Testors. The annoying thing is that acrylics form a sort of skin and may peel off if you're not careful. But they are versatile in how you can thin them by adding water and are much easier to clean than enamel.

There are a few chemicals that may work. I often use finger nail polish remover, but this may not work well on all paints. Nothing else comes to mind at the moment, but if I remember anything, I'll let ya know.

Yes, you should definitely avoid using enamels on figures. Enamel paints can react with certain plastics, creating a sticky finish that never cures.
