This was filmed about 45 minutes from here.
Now I hate reality shows, the only ones I can stand is some of the Home Improvement ones.. but I guess I'll tune into this one since I am so close. here's the description:
Armed and Famous is the title of a reality television series that will premiere January 10, 2007 on CBS.
The series follows five celebrities as they train to become reserve police officers for the Muncie, Indiana police department, followed by graduation. After that, the celebrities will go on patrol with the same training officers who traditionally ride with new officers.
The series stars Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osbourne, Trish Stratus and Jason Acu?a (a.k.a. "Wee Man" on ).
On December 5, 2006, the celebrities were officially sworn in as reserve officers.
Now, the only thinkg I can tell, other than a producer being from Muncie is the fact that Ball State University is there, because shhot, if they wanted to shoot this in Indiana, Indianapolis would have been better,
But anyway, kinda cool with it being so close to me.

Muncie, Indiana must have really liberal Background Checks for it?s Reserve Police Officers. Isn?t Jack Osbourne, Ozzy?s son that was always whacked out on Ozzy?s show? La Toya Jackson is not much better either, she always seems out of it for some reason.
Why not get the Duke boys, Schneider and Wopat and give them a black and white ?69 Dodge Charger to drive around in, now that would be a TV Show I?d watch

I hate to be the Police Chief of that department...
Let one of the star officers violate the civil rights of a
alledged offender and we will see this unfold in civil
court...
I find this a slap in the face to all of us police officers
who are risking our lives everyday...This reality show
to me; mooks every thing we try to do out on the streets...
It puts the idea of being a law enforcement officer into
a three ring circus...
I hope Jack O gets a good wake-up call on his first traffic
stop when the traffic violator is non-compliant with his directions
or the vehicle comes back stolen and the now the wanted felon flees...
I wonder what will happen at criminal court during a trial with these
bunch of stars...Will the defense attorney or public defender eat them
up???
Boy can we use Batman now...

Here's a Video:
http://www.thestarpress.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070104/VIDEO/70104016
Back from their holiday break, the cast of Armed and Famous were back on the streets of Muncie Wednesday night. Erik Estrada, responding to the stabbing of a local activist, got into an argument with him during the incident. This video was shot by Star Press staffer Kurt Hostetler, not by the Armed and Famous production company.
I just hate these shows period, and I agree, put on a real life Duke show anyday.. LOL
Funny thing is, MTV was in Muncie at the same time wanting to do a show on their High School Basketball, but the parents wouldn't allow it, saying it would distract the kids to much.

I find that truly desperate - so in theory, someone gets murdered and you call the cops - and you get La Toya fri*gin' Jackson on the scene? (please excuse my French Beyond, I know you probably can't say that on BatmanYTB).
The only thing you could say about her is that she would probably be than Micheal.
What a joke. |

& the previous post was written before I saw the video Beyond attached - so someone's been stabbed, and they get that muppet from Chips on the scene - who proceeds to get into a bundle with the victim!
Fantastic law enforcement. Way to go.
I rest my case (your honour). |

You have to remember that us real Law Enforcement Officers
(police officers) are have been well trained in dealing
with these types of situations...
In a situation such as with our Chips star, maybe since he
has no prior experiance as a law enforcement officer, he
just freaked out...Plus blood always makes me freak-out...
This type of work takes years to master and I mean years...
I'm still learning everyday as I work and play...
It takes the best of the best to do this job...
Not everyone can cut this mustard...:p

I agree entirely - it's a job for cops - that's who you need when things like that happen. You'd think that was so obvious, but clearly it's not too obvious for the guy who wants more viewers than the other channel..........
You'd also probably think that real cops with whom they're working would question the wisdom of it all..... unless they see it as a way for people to get a better understanding of the things that real law enforcement have to deal with......... (but surely for that there's enough serious cop show documentaries- do you still have the program called simply "Cops" - I used to really like that...............) |
