Known to most as Legions of Gotham and to others as LOG, If you are a Bat-Fan, you need to check this site out!!!
LoG has everything a Bat-Fan needs! We have topics on every area! Whatever your Batman needs, LoG is sure to have it! We have topics on every aspect of Batman: action figures, other collectibles, all the movies, all the TV shows, heck, we even have a pawn shop!!! Not to mention you can talk about other things too on our Misc. board!
Log has exclusives too! In the Batman world, a lot happens, and so there is a lot to get caught up in! Sometimes you may be going crazy to find news! Well LoG has all the news you need and some, and we do the work for you! But as I said, we have exclusives, at LoG, we have stuff you can't find anywhere else!
Not only does LoG have a forum/Message Board, we can also be found all over the web.
Log has a MySpace Group, we're on Comicspace, and we even have a blog.
Anybody's welcome at Log, whether you're old or young, a newcomer to Batman or the oldest fan ever, whether you're a small fan or the ultimate, all are welcome!

I tried it once and didnt really like it. Maybe it was just me, but everyone just seemed at pains to point out that they were the biggest Batman fan on the block.

Ok.. now.. are you going to advertise BYTB on LOG?
Matt has done alot for the Batman community. However, all BYTB styaff has been banned from there, AND any links that have BYTB in it gets deleted.
There is nothing there that is not here.

Brucebatman3, permit me to introduce myself, I’m FlaBat and I was one of the ORIGINAL MODS on LoG five or six years ago. I was there with InsayneJayne, Faithfulbutler, Reideen13, Bullock and few other Mods some of whom are probably not there anymore. I’ll get to why I am no longer on LoG in a moment, but first a little history.
It was a time not so long ago Matt and Josh were two buddies that put up a small Internet Forum called Bat-Figs that was all about Batman action figures. It was a pretty cool place. Matt expanded the site and it went on to become Legions Of Gotham (LoG). It consisted of a Web Site, www.legionsofgotham.org and a Forum on the ProBoards Web Site.
At one-point I was a frequent member of many different Batman themed Web Sites. Batman On Film was great, but did not cover the action figures too much. Bat-Figs and another site, BYTB’s The Voice Of Gotham filled that void and I spent many nights posting away about the latest Batman figures on both sites.
When Matt decided to “hire” some help, I along with a few select other Members became LoG Mods and even more select Members became a Bat Sentry which over saw the Mod’s work as LoG grew. It was fun while it lasted.
LoG grew too big too fast, almost cult like fast and bad things started to happen. It just wasn’t fun anymore on LoG. The Mods were tasked with going to other Web Sites to gather news and information to bring back to LoG. However, overzealous Members who found something online elsewhere and wanted to share it on LoG were often beating me to the punch with their posts. LoG’s boards became littered and in disarray and it was out of control.
Then one night the unthinkable happened. Matt had an anxiety attack or something and he kicked Josh, his partner on the board, off LoG. Matt shut down the LoG Forum and moved it to another ProBoards site. I recall this because I could not understand why and I had to help move Posts from the “old” site to the “new” one. It seems Matt and Josh had a falling out and Matt not only banned Josh from a site he help create, but he MOVED it to a whole new site.
Why move the site? Well a LoG Member had posted a picture that was inappropriate. I never saw it myself, but the poster was pictured “flipping off” LoG Mod InsayneJayne who he was having a “flame war” with. When Matt discovered that Josh knew the person personally, Matt dumped Josh. Matt would later make Josh a Member again, but by then Josh had needlessly been embarrassed in front of most of his friends and his relationship with Matt was over.
Matt posted a warning to the Mods about another Member called Blackwing (who was mostly harmless and mostly on BYTB) Then LoG Mod InsayneJayne went onto BYTB seeking this Member and started a flame war with them. Being a LoG Mod and BYTB Member I tried to calm both sides down, but that failed. I resigned from LoG as a Mod, but was asked to reconsider and went back to being a LoG Mod a day later.
It did not last long. A LoG Member posted a snide remark about BYTB in reference to an alleged picture-stealing incident a couple years earlier. My post was deleted and I was rebuffed by a couple Mods via PM. I resigned for good after that. I had enough BS on LoG.
Matt then snapped and banned me for good. He banned anybody else who was part of BYTB that he could find on LoG. If you were on BYTB, you would NOT be on LoG. He banned anybody who dared speak out against anything Matt liked. Matt then took LoG private so nobody could lurk there and made prospective new Members write and Essay about why they wanted to become a LoG Member. It was a dark time for LoG, but the worst was still ahead.
Matt lifted the ban about three months later. Once I was able to get back on I found LoG to be a very cold place. Matt had a “Bat Karma” rating for his Members. If you liked a Member you could give them “positive” Bat Karma, if you disliked a Member you could ding them with “negative” Bat Karma. While the “Members” were supposed to control how often they could affect another’s Bat-Karma, the whole thing was controlled by Matt. I’m the only LoG Member to ever get a “–666” Bat-Karma rating on LoG that I know off. But the stupidity does not end there even though I think Bat-Karma was removed later on.
Once my ban was lifted I could, and did DELETE my Account with LoG wiping out all my posts. Gone for good were my thoughts, comments to the industry, figure reviews (which are now part of BYTB) and a couple years of my life, man did it feel good. I was not alone, over the next couple years other former LoG Mods would leave LoG for one reason or another.
So why do people leave LoG? Well for starters it’s not very nice to some people. There is a clique group there that rules the roost while there are others there that are ignored. Matt has an elitist attitude that permeates the boards there. I’ve heard many people complain about LoG for many of the same reasons.
Shortly after I left LoG, I was asked to be a Mod on BatmanYTB. At first I declined, after the debacle of LoG I was content to just be a Member. However, I did become a Mod and later an Admin at BYTB. BYTB allowed me to express myself and grow in ways I never thought of. My action figure and toy reviews are very well received and my Batserpiece Theatre was an online exclusive comic on BYTB. I have provided much exclusive content to BYTB that can only be found there.
You see, Brucebatman3, LoG is very much a “one way street”. Here you’ve come on BYTB and SPAMMED a lot of crap about LoG. If anybody did that on LoG the Post/Thread would be DELETED and the Member BANNED on the spot. I know, because my first Ban on LoG was over a reference I made to BYTB in a Post. We’re not going to Delete your Post or Ban your Membership, that’s not how we do it on BYTB.
http://www.legion...tham.org/ is long gone. It was the Web Site that stored all of LoG’s database other than the Forum. LoG never did have an extensive database of figures or anything else in the first, while BYTB has the most extensive and most complete Batman Database on the Internet. The LoG Forum has remained all these years, but Matt tends to alienate people after while and they leave. That just not happen on BYTB.
Brucebatman3 you are entitled to you opinion of LoG, but in my opinion you are wrong and I feel I’m not alone in this assessment.
Just for fun I dare you to post on LoG “Check out this great site, BatmanYTB.com” and see how fast Matt kicks you in the….

Never been a member of LOG... Used to visit there when I needed Batman info because I thought it was the only site on the web, then I found BYTB which has far more comprehensive information on characters, action figures and media.
I nearly joined LOG once, but the sign-up page seemed to go to great lengths to point out that the administrator was in control of everything and could boot you out just for the fun of it, and the essay thing was total bullcrap; it sounded so elitest/control freak that I decided not to even bother with it.
Anyway, I'm living proof of the absolute kindness and understanding of BYTB's mod staff. I used to be a thickheaded, argumentative jerk; but they never banned me. I don't think I've ever properly thanked you guys; thanks for understanding and letting me stay at this great site.

razhwurz you do like to arguee alot and I personally think its a good thing for us to see because it keeps us all on our feet and thinking about stuff in the movies. anyways this is the first and best batman site ive ever been to.

Matt does run LOG like it is eliteist, don't ever state your mind or you WILL get into a ing contest resulting in being banned. He has these "exclusive images" that he brands and takes away the color and clarity of the image. Just recently dumped my membership in LOG because Matt, in my oppinion is a tempramental (and I do mean MENTAL) jerk that has no business running a flea circus let a lone a web site devoted to Batman.

Ok.. guys, this will not become a "DUMP ON LOG" thread ok?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. We've had members leave us and post there.
The thing is, the web is big enough for all of us.
If you perfer LOG of BYTB, thats fine. If you perfer BYTB over LOG, again, fine. If you prefer both sites, fine.
The main difference. We don't ban people for being on another site. I will never ban you from having LOG in your Sig. OR for posting a link to their site. They get exclusives, we get them as well.
Almost every bit of news that is out there, we TRY to post it. We have a huge news section for just that, so it will be easy to find.
So again, please, no bashing..

Used to be? All kidding aside I like a little Devils Advocate debate from time to time is good as it makes the place lively and keeps the conversation going. Razhwurz, you have never failed to disappoint, I’m glad you’re here and a part of the team.

I haven't been to that site in over a year most likely. I almost joined but decided not to even bother with it because it was such a hassle.
But I won't bash on LOG anymore than that, I'll just say in my opinion, this is by far the best Batman site on the web. If you just wanted to sit down one day and look through loads and loads of Batman stuff, you can do it here. I'd like to thank Chris and all the others who helped make this site what it is. I'd also like to point out that I've been a member here for 3 years now, the fact that I'm still here should say something, right?  |
