http://indiefilm.movies.yahoo.com/article-3-batman-goes-bale-istic-with-profane-tirade-on-crew/

apparently christian bale went nuts to a cinematographer when he walked into a scene, accidentally or not. now i don't know what exactly happened, but bale cussed up a storm. lol. it was kinda funny, but also disturbing. there's a 3 minute audio of it.

i've been on a project similar to a movie i guess, and i kinda understand where his frustration comes from. people think he's crazy, but i think he's just stressed. he had a lot of dark knight stuff to deal with too i'm sure. so this is me defending him. haha.

I think anyone whose been in any sort of production or movie understands where he's coming from on this. Not to mention he's a method actor, which means he's putting himself in a highly emotional state, and it's easy to get PO'd in that state. And it's important to note this happened a total of one times in his career, and the outburst only lasted 4 minutes.

I'm not sure how reliable Ain't It Cool News is, but the report was that the scene filmed was a very emotional one between Bale and Bryce Dallas Howard. The DP was doing something that no professional DP should ever do which is mess with the lights when a scene is being filmed. Bale warned him multiple times before not to touch the lights but he did it anyway.

I've been in a similar situation before when I worked on a movie. It was an emotional scene, one that required complete concentration and free of distraction. When you lose that focus, it's very hard to get those emotions back. You invest a lot of energy into it. So I understand where Bale's frustration came from.

Bale's been in the business since he was 13-years-old so he knows what he's doing. I still admire him greatly. He's still an inspiration to me.

hey, does anyone know about that incident where he was jailed for assaulting his mom and one of his sisters?

i guess we should just stay away form his personal life, lol.

but despite the bad press he's been getting since the release of the dark knight, i still have mad respect for him.

The assault incident (whether it was true or not, I don't know) was brought up about two days after The Dark Knight was released.

Bale has always been quiet about his personal life and which is really rare for someone from Hollywood to do.

Christian got in an argument with his mom and his sister because they hate his wife, he shouted at them and then stormed out. They went to the police and said he assaulted them. He cooperated completely with the police when they arrested him and after a day of investigation the police found that his mom and sister were lying and dropped the charges.

I'd have to dig to find the article that said all this, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened

Somewhat embarresing. He dresses up as Batman and is loved for it then he shows peopl-- I don't know where I'm going with this. I mean, your Batman in a film. You somewhat make a fool out of yourself when you do a bad job in a scene, he must of done bad takes with bloopers, etc. And then he gets--I still don't know where I'm going with this, can't describe it.

I don't think you really understand. He was having FANTASTIC take, and then some idiot broke his concentration by doing something unprofessional. When your an actor you're trying to get yourself into a specific emotional zone. And when it's an intense scene (like in this case) that's a bit like riding a unicyle while balancing plates in your hands and a book on your head; and once you find that that zone it is exeptionally annoying to be pulled out of it by an amatuer DP doing yeti walks 4 feet away from you.

Almost every actor-- especially actors as intense as Christian-- has at some point in there career blasted off on someone when they do something stupid that ruins the scene.

Michael Caine has done it, Gary Oldman has deffinitely done it, Liam Neeson has done it, Eric Roberts has done it, Heath might have even done it once or twice. The differance between these incidents and Bale's incident is that some idiot leaked the audio to embarass him.

That's not what I was trying to say but, true. He shouldn't cuss though. Be funny if he pretended he really acted like Bruce Wayne to them and told every "Two-Faced friend and freeloaders" out there to leave.

...but christian bale is christian bale, not batman. lol.

i'm not gonna promote cussing and swearing, but i dont think christian bale deserves the negative comments he's been receiving. he's just human, you can't expect him to be perfect. no matter how righteous and good his batman character might have been, he's not batman. and i feel so sorry for the guy. it's ok for regular people to get angry, but not big name actors? why should actors have a stricter judgment?

well, i think in the end, most of us don't see the big picture. i think christian bale is being put on the spot, and ends up looking like the bad guy; unable to explain himself. i think in that respect, he is like batman. most people will hate him out of ignorance.

Hasn't anyone heard about/read about his apology that came about a few days ago?

http://omg.yahoo.com/news/christian-bale-on-blow-up-i-was-out-of-order-beyond-belief/18598

When I first heard about the blow up, I was disappointed, and I certainly was when I actually listened to the tape. Still, I know how frustrating movie making can be. It's easy for me to get quick-tempered even when I'm just making home movies with my brothers and friends. So, I can definitely see how someone could blow up like that. But I was still disappointed at the language he used and how he just went on and on. But, after reading about his apology, my respect for him was boosted back up a lot. He's pretty much my favorite modern-day actor, and I know that sounds kinda lame coming from a huge Batman geek, but I happen to enjoy his other work greatly too. Anyways, some people might say 'Of course he's apologizing NOW, just because he was caught', but why would he have needed to apologize before about something nobody knew about?

Actually, he DID apologize before now. If you listen to the full apology, he mentions that he apologized to the DP the very day of the incident.

Anyway, I particularly like his sense of humour about the situation. He's obviously embarassed, but he's deffinitely thankful to those who aren't taking it so seriously and are playing to the humorous side of the situation. It's also good to see how humble he is about it and how respectful he is of the guy who in reality screwed up pretty big.
