Who's your favorite James Bond (I know you'll all say Sean Connery) mine is Roger Moore because he gets the best Bond girls well best names of Bond girls here is an example: Galore, Octo, Willow, Chew Mee and, Penolope Smallbone just to name a few (I think Roger Moore gets more girls than Sean Connery I'm jealous Roger Moore gets so much pun intended).
Actually, Ms. Galore was one of Connery's, in 1964's "Goldfinger." She was Auric Goldfinger's pilot and personal assistant until Bond convinced her she was backing the wrong horse.
Connery is the man. Much as I like Roger Moore, I never bought him as Bond. Connery, Brosnan, and Dalton all were close to James Bond as originally envisioned by creator Ian Fleming in the James Bond novels that began appearing i the 1950s. Even Lazenby, the one-hit wonder, was in the same mold. (HE actually did quite well, considering that he was firmly in Connery's shadow, and he wasn't even an actor.) But I can only enjoy Moore's Bond movies by thinking of them as some alternate earth version of Bond. Moore always seemed to me like he was pretending to be Bond, whereas Connery WAS Bond. Moore never brought that kind of conviction to the role.
Don't takt this post as Moore-bashing, though. I love the guy. He's just third-rate where Bond is concerned, though.
I think Sean Connery had a commanding presence about him that no one had up until Pierce Brosnan became Bond. I think Timothy Dalton was great as a more realistic, down to earth, Bond, who didn't just bed woman and leave them hanging. In terms of Roger Moore, I thought he was quite good and physically, he's the only one of the actors that looked or sounded like Bond should.
