Is that Jake Gyllenhal?
Speaking of recasting, Raimi has apparently been considering making a fourth movie... And if he comes back for one more, there may be a chance Tobey will come back out of loyalty. And Dunst says she'll go with whatever Raimi says.

Anouther Venom stage; No emblem, less muscle mass, and a smaller mouth. It kind of reminds me of the ads for that "Descent" movie. I'm having a preminition... One million small children going to see a happy Spider-man film are scared for life by a creepy Venom design. thats because that wasnt venom, its spidey, its when he looks in the mirror and he sees that thing

How about how Venoms webing is black as well and not white/clear/nylon looking, how do you guys feel about that? I mean in the comics it looked just like spideys only thicker (even a lil liquidy) and it was 10x stronger...I mean I could be wrong and there may be a version of his webings being black in a different comic...ultimate spiderman maybe?

Unlike in the comics, Parker has organic web shooters, so the webbing he uses in the Black costume comes from him instead of the costume; so in the movie the webbing is Black because it's the symbiote. Raimi probably made Venom's webbing Black so that it had a more distinct, evil, look; and it's texture is ment to give it a stronger look.

The sad thing is that after being around for 40 years or so, they changed the comic Spider-man to match the movie and have organic web shooters. I don't know what story it happened in, but it was in the past few years.
It was my understanding (and don't take me too seriously since I don't think that I have actually read the story) that the symbiote costume provided the webbing when Peter wore it in the comics (no shooters needed). I'm not saying that Peter will be using the suit's "webbing" in the movie, but since the webbing that Venom will shoot is black it is probably part of the symbiote shooting out. Just speculation based on my limited knowledge.

Yeah, Parker "evolved" recently in the comics; I don't remeber any powers other than oganic webshooters. I actually prefer the organic webbing... It always seemed kind of stupid that a kid could invent something that scientists with billions of dollars and infinite fesources couldn't.

I always liked the explanation that I saw on the 90's cartoon. When he gained the spider powers he thought that he also gained an instinctual knowledge of how to build something that would simulate a spider's webbing. A little silly sounding, but at least they tried.

Spidey slings silver webbing in the movie, so he's probably using his own webs. He even still does the "Web sling" finger pose.

The organic webshooters were added during that awful crossover "The Other," which was largely a retread of a story that was done a year earlier(which was pretty terrible in its own right). In addition to organic webshooters, Spidey also gained "stingers," which are large, poison-secreting bone things that he can eject from and retract into his forearm a la Wolverine's claws, and the ability to communicate with spiders. These abilitites have been mostly ignored since their inception. He still has the organic webbing, but aside from the lack of mention of his webfluid he used to have to mix up and reload all the time, you'd hardly know any of it ever happened. I think the organic webbing makes sense-- why would he get every spider ability except what is possibly the single most important one?-- but the other added powers were pretty dumb. They're better off forgotten.
And yeah, the webbing being produced by the symbiote goes all the way back to the black costume's first appearance in the comics. Once Spidey had the symbiote costume, it produced webbing itself. It still looked like regular webbing, except for in Ultimate Spider-Man, where it was colored black and Spidey shot it from his fingertips.

I'm really not a fan of the Spidey films at all, but I'm interested to see how they wrap the trilogy up. Even if the man and mystery thing is kinda screwed after the last Spiderman movie. |

Oddly enough, even though Spidey is closer to the comics story wise; I think Batman Begins's closer to the comics Character wise.

about the organic webbing...doesnt anybody but me think that's gross? i mean it's coming out of his body. thats almost like really thick spit or...semen. lol. my friends always joke that spider-man ejaculates from his wrists. i guess it's different cuz it's just webbing, but i still think it's kinda disgusting.

yeah it is,but its smart and shoulda been like that from the beginning, like he started at 16,i know he is smart but c'mon, how does a 16 yr old come up with such a high leveled divice(web shooters),plus making it organic makes him more like a spider, thats like the thing people know about spiders the most is that they spin webs, yeah its gross but its smart and should have been like that from the beginning

Okay... Phil, that's a little odd.
Not all organic material is gross. Do me a favor, run your hand through your hair. Was that as disgusting as running you hand through... Man juice? His organic webbing is the exact same stuff he uses in the comics; it's just that it comes out of his wrist instead of a machine.
P.S. I've touched real spider webs on many occasions... And I really can't find anyway to connect it's texture to semen.
