Maybe I had other stuff on my mind during that scene, but the dancing stuff didn't seem too long or annoying for me. I have heard that complain from others though. As for the crying, yeah, it almost was too depressing or overwhelming at times. I actually starting feeling kinda crappy watching Mary Jane's fake break-up with Peter. But the final battle was so action-packed that the ending didn't seem too sad.

How could have Venom survived? Was I the only one who saw Brock's skeleton in the explosion? How the heck would he survive something like that?

i think a tiny piece of symbiote will form into venom..lol. the symbiote never left dr conner's lab; so maybe it'll hatch on to another person that's coincidentally also named eddie brock. heck, that little symbiote might turn into eddie brock himself.

Umm.... Okay... Please be joking?
Venom is the symbiosis between Brock and the Symbiote... That piece of the symbiote came before Parker even rejected the thing; so doubtful it'll turn into anything like Venom... Now if the symbote that merged with Brock survived (It didn't, the whole bloody thing disintigrated on screen), then I could see a "Venom" coming in without Brock.
Now, I can imagine Dr. Connors sending it over to a testing facility that decides to clone it, creating an ultra-violent murdorous symbiote that escapes and merges with a serial killer... That would work.

i know he disintegrated, but i guess i forgot the fact that the symbiote was pre-venom.
anyways..quite honestly, i'm not too excited for any more spider-man movies to come..but then again i just dont like spider-man as a character. emo whiny teenager who has nothing better to do but dance, cry, and shoot webs.
but one thing is for sure, the cgi in spider-man movies NEED to get better. transformers set like a new standard, lol.

Emo? What? Dude! If your father figure was killed because of a mistake you made, your best friend wanted to kill you because his father died trying to kill you and the woman you loved was having relationship issues with you then you'd be depressed to!
Why is it that if anyone shows any slight bit of angst they're "Emo"? Phil... You need to get in touch with your emotional side. lol
As for sequels... No, I'm not looking forward to them. They have the room to make a Carnage, but with the way they did Venom it would be way to derivitive, And anty villainther than Carnage would be anti-climatic.

no, peter was emo, even if my father/father figure died, i wouldnt go around wearing eyeliner lol, thay coulda made him emotionally depressed in another way without making him dress and look like an emo
Obviously he was going to be depressed, but they coulda shown that another way, he didnt have to put on eyeliner and comb his hair to the side

well let's just say the peter parker/spider-man character is a bit too realistic. he has teenage drama, well i guess now college drama, lol. he's really easy to relate to i guess.
with batman, he sets his standards all high. he lives a life with morals that a lot of people dont have. he doesnt drink, doesnt smoke, doesnt do anything bad really; and on top of that, he gives a lot of money to charity as bruce wayne, and saves lives of strangers as batman. batman's ideals are unrealistic, but admirable.
to me, spider-man could be like some kid at my school with super powers. he either fights crime out of vengeance, enjoyment, fame, or something a real life person would do it for. but it's not something to admire. i'm just the type of person who likes his fictional characters to be unbelievably "good."

Uhh... BB... I have no idea what your talking about. Peter didn't dress "emo" until he was wearing the symbiote suit (even then it was just black clothes and a comb-over do, no ete-liner to speak of.). But the thing is, he didn't look "emo" because he was depressed... He dressed like that because he was tired of being shy old Peter Parker and wanted a hipper look.
And Phil... Yeah, he does things for selfish reasons sometimes (particularly in the movies). But if you'll watch Spidey 1 & 2 there are a lot of scenes where he does things entirely for others... Running into a burning building to save a child (in both movies) giving up Mary Jane so he could stay a superhero (end of 1) and of course nearly killing himself stopping the train in spidey 2.

As part of BBC4s Comics Britannia season, we had a programme presented by Jonathan Ross (famous UK comic/presenter/general irritant) called "In Search of Steve Ditko". Aside from Alan Moore's usual verbal diarrhoea, it was excellent.
It was dedicated to the man who co-created Spidey and culminated in him (Ross) standing outside Ditko's office (in NYC) and telephoning him and asking for an interview. Ditko said no, but he went in anyway (without the camera) and spoke to him, and came out about 30 minutes later grinning like a Cheshire cat with a big pile of comics that Ditko gave him. It was excellent and fair play to Ross for doing what he did. They had a polite chat on the phone, but after he'd been told he wasn’t available, he (Ross) just said sod it, I've come this far, I wanna see the man who drew Spidey, and walked right in!
I don't normally like Jonathan Ross, but in this instance, I've got to say he totally delivered. He was really good, both in his glowing tribute to and his handling of Ditko's initial blow-out.
As well as that, there was the best Stan Lee interview I've ever seen. The story and dispute is quite a famous one, and Ross (whilst completely respecting Lee's position and achievements) basically just asked him if he'd done Ditko wrong. In fairness, in response, Stan was the man. He put up a well reasoned, fair and thoughtful argument against Ditko's claim. At the same time, he was very generous towards him and spoke with genuine admiration for his art. He said he didn’t believe that Ditko co-created Spidey, but he was happy to let him have credit. He was asked some tough questions by Ross, and with a big smile and his usual dramatic statements, he handled them well. He openly admitted that after the first few episodes, he didn’t really write the stuff, Ditko did. He was given the pictures and the plot, all Stan did was fill in the speech bubbles. It was fascinating viewing.
More info and a brief clip on the Stan interview here.....

I guess I'll have to see the movie again, cause I don't remember it and every pic I have of him doesn't show eye-liner... But even if he wore eye-liner my point still stands. It was a fashion choice and not a reflection of being emo or anything.

im not saying he was emo as in a cutter emo, i meant that it was reflecting his new personality, not caring as much as he used to, MJ breking up with him, etc

I just watched it for the first time on DVD tonight. It was good, despite being a bit too long. The action scenes were great, but I longed for more of Venom, perhaps Spider-man 4 will have Carnage in it, that would be cool. I think Spider-man 2 was the best of the 3 of them so far.
