Discuss the best damn music game ever made here! I've been playing this game for months, and I still play it more than anything else. Almost every day, I'll play at least a few songs. It has a great mass appeal, too. Everybody I've shown the game to has fallen in love with it. People I have never known to play any video games still enjoy this game. It's remarkable.
We're now less than three months from the release of Guitar Hero 2, and I can barely take the wait anymore. Been doing a lot of thinking about which songs and features I want the game to have. The first game was damn near perfect, but there's always room for improvement. I'd really like a create-your-own character mode, rather than always having to choose one of the pre-made characters. It'd also be nice to have an autoplay mode, so you can just watch the band perform a song of your choice. The designs and character animation is realy good, but you can't really watch it while you're playing.
Here are some of the songs I'd like to have in the game. I won't post my entire list, but here's a dozen or so of the ones I would most like to have in the game.
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps"- The Beatles
"Mr. Crowley"- Ozzy
"Back In Black"- AC/DC
"For Those About to Rock"- AC/DC
"Simple Man"- Lynyrd Skynyrd
"False Sense of Security"- Exies
"Cum On Feel the Noize"- Quiet Riot
"Bang Your Head"- Quiet Riot
"Dirty Deeds"- AC/DC
"Be Yourself"- Audioslave
"Man in the Box"- Alice in Chains
"Mother"- Danzig
"Paranoid"- Black Sabbath
"Lost in the Crowd"- Shine Down
How bout everybody else? And for anyone who doesn't have this game yet, what the hell are you waiting for? Get it!! If you don't have a PS2, it's worth buying one just for this game. Hell, it's the reason I finally bought a PS2 several months ago, and it was well-worth it.
yeah i have this game, its awesome. My friend got so addicted to it, he bought the game with the guitar that same day JUST so that we could play the 2 player mode lol. The 2 player mode is horribly addicting they make one player a part of the song, then the next player picks up where the other left off, great fun. Yeah i cant wait for guitar hero 2 either, unfortuneatly you and I will to buy yet ANOTHER guitar since the GH1 guitar doesnt work with GH2. ALTHOUGH, the makers of GH said we will able to use the original GH guitars as a bass, or rythm guitar, that should be loads of fun too. If you havent read and seen the newest improvements about GH2 heres a site http://www.gamesp...0hero%202
we'll finally get a practice mode, which ive always wanted, you can skip through parts of the song to practice ONLY the solo or some parts your having trouble, and can do so on slow motion to learn the patterns, GH2 looks like its gonna be even BETTER than GH1! thats a great song list you have there too, i'd love to see some more alice in chains, they're one of my favorite bands, i'd like to see we die young, god am and some others. My dream come true though would be to see some tool songs. Did you know maynard confessed to playing GH1 EVERYDAY while recording tool's newest album 10,000 days? so did the rest of the band
That's cool, I didn't know Tool played GH so much! I've been keeping up with the development of GH2, but I haven't heard that the GH axe will be incompatible with GH2. I hope that's not true. It'd be a pretty lousy thing for them to do, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

thats what ive read at some fan boards, but i'll look into it some further, having to buy another guitar would be a pain, hopefully they dont make us do that. And yeah, i saw it at tools website, it was amusing to find how much they loved the game lol just goes to show how fun the game is, that it got the amazing musicians of tool addicted
Yeah, it's definitely challenging enough to keep real guitarists occupied. One of my friends who plays the guitar says that some of the songs in expert difficulty are actually harder to play in the game than playing them on a real guitar!
