I've always thought the best songs to represent Batman are the ones that are quiet and somber. Rock songs don't do him justice. The only song I could think of is Darkness by Darren Hayes. |

cuz when i look at the character, it seems like he feels he's the only one right, and everyone around him are idiots. and from the way i interpreted the song...he lives his life thinking the people around him know nothing; even other heroes in the justice league. and he realizes that he's alone, and thinks maybe he's the troubled one. so he's a little confused.
and this is all my interpretation of the character and the song.
if it helps, here's a music video i made...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIg0CMCJfzw#GU5U2spHI_4
i think the song is very depressing. the lyrics are really good, and the guy's a real good singer.

Well, I'm a fan of hard rock and heavy metal, but classic music fits well as evident in the films. A few particular songs/bands I've mentioned in the past include:
Type O Negative - This group has a slow, gothic metal sound with exceptionally low guitar and vocals. Their album October Rust has sort of a romantic sound that could suit Batman well.
White Zombie's "Blood, Milk, Sky" - This song has a creepy percussion and female vocals alongside a heavy guitar riff and would be great in a Scarecrow montage.
Nine Inch Nails - This metal group has plenty of moody, industrial songs that could remind the listener of the urban jungle of Gotham.

I've know I've said it before here, but the Batman Begins soundtrack is the best CD for reading comics to.
There is nothing I love more than reading a new Batman, in the early hours of the morning, with Batman Begins on the CD player (quite low).
It's also on my Zen so I can listen to it in St Albans Abbey when I go there for lunch and read. |

i don't think any song will ever be PERFECT for batman. it will either be the lyrics or the instruments. but i've yet to see a song that fits batman entirely.
i guess unforgiven by metallica is batman-like. it reminds me a lot of bruce wayne of the timmverse.

Personally (probably because of the obvious), that just reminds me of a western! |

If you go by song title alone I recommend 'AMERICAN BAD ASS' because that says it all about Batman.
If you want a brooding type song I recommend 'HELL'S BELLS'
'IT'S NOT WHO I AM UNDERNEATH, BUT WHAT I DO THAT DEFINES ME-BATMAN (Batman Begins) |
