lol, thats right boys and girls, its offically the holiday season once BDG breaks out the ol' nog and this weekend i did just that. so who else here enjoy a good cup of egg nog thurout the holidy season. i personally just liek it as is without any alcholo mixed into it since i dont drink, but it still gets the job done just fine for me lol. i like the tradiationl stuff but i tend to lean more towards vanilla spice flavored nog a bit more. anyhoo, share ur thoughts about the nog right here!:lol:

i love egg nog. it tastes so good! but i know theres a lot of ppl who wud disagree. lol. u either love it or hate it.

Hahah! A thread about egg nog, how 'bout that...
The first time I had egg nog was a couple years back. My brother made it, and it was pretty good, until he poured another glass and it ran out like ooze (he didn't beat the eggs well enough). I've barely had any since then, but I'd really like to. If my brother can make good nog, I'm sure there's better 'nog out there.
I agree, BDG. Everyone needs an excuse to guzzle alcohol, so they dump it in anything that tastes good. I'd prefer just plain, natural 'nog, thank you. 
Hot cider's okay. My mom likes to make it, but I'm not a huge fan.

Heh, cool post I'm with you guys; no need to add the alcohol, I prefer it just the way it is. Always store-bought, though...I don't know anyone who makes it.
Cider is always a good option, especially since we have so many orchards around here. We have an apple tree in our front yard, and every year we keep saying how we'll make cider or something with the apples. |

i didnt know it was alcoholic, lol. maybe ive been drinking alcohol all these years and didnt know, lol. but im pretty sure my mom picks out the non alcoholic ones.

hehe hey kool, glad to hear such positive responses for eggnog! lol
no they usually dont sell it with the alcohol already mixed, i think they sell it regualr and then if u want u can mix it urself. i believe the popular thing to mix with it is rum, but im not sure.
DK, ive gotta try hot cider, never have before. or if i have then i dont know, but do they sell that in stores? if so i might chekc it out :lol:

I am pretty sure that they have it in stores. You usually have to warm it up (microwave), also it is pretty good if you drop a couple of red hots into it. Those add some more cinnamon flavor. During finals they were giving some hot cider away in the Student Union. It was really nice to go get a cup to drink at work.
You do know that finals are the best time of the semester, except for all the dang tests.

I tried one 'o them egg nog shakes from McDonald's the other night, thinking it'd be good. It must have had a little alcohol in it for (crappy ass) flavor because I could swear I tasted Butterscotch Schnapps (which, again, tastes terrible). It's a damn ice cream shake for crying out loud.
I tried to convince her to make egg nog, but it looks like Ma's making cider again this year. Oh well, it aint bad.

I've never had egg nog. I'm a disgrace. Well that, and the fact that it never caught on over here and I don't think you can buy it. Must find out if my mom would be up for making it.

My dad loves the stuff. Personally, I don't think I've ever had any, maybe I'll get the chance to try some this year. Maybe it's the name that's turned me off of it for all these years.

Well my mom made it the other night, and I quite liked it. Didn't blow me away or anything, but then, we didn't really put any flavouring in it. Just a bit of vanilla essence and some brown sugar.
