With all the "Holiday" stuff going around I thougt I'd take a moment and let you all know that all of us here at the YTB sites appreacte you and hope you all stick around for what looks to be a better year.
This CHRISTMAS season let us all remember what it's about. Now don't worry, I'm not going to get all preachy, thats not what BYTB is about. But I will say that no matter your belief, Christmas is a time of giving, sharing, and remembering. Enjoy the time you spent with your family, time is short, let us all take the time to be with the ones we love and reflect on what is imporant to us.
With that being said..

Check out our Christmas Ornaments thread HERE!!

Hahah. Nice picture choice. Makes me wonder if they'll have any sort of Christmas episode for The Batman.
There's some pretty nice Batman Ornaments on the shelves this year, I'm thinking I'll pick up one or two myself.

Yeah, I like that picture.
The "Holiday" stuff is getting on my nerves though. With all the Wal-Mart and Target stuff, it's getting a little pathetic. Oh well, they can't take away CHRISTMAS. But, I have heard that Wal-Mart went back on that "rule".

I've been hearing stuff about that, kinda silly of a controversy. They did a bit about it on Comedy Central's The Cobert Report. The night's Word was "XMas" and they basically showed how silly people look who think higher-ups in America are trying to get rid of Christmas.

Hell yeah! My friend and I dug up his old VHS at his house a couple years ago. Took little bit to get the tracking on the VCR set right, but we got 'er. I love how Skeletor starts feeling the Christmas spirit. "Good? But I want to feel evil!"

Yippee. It's Christmas. I get to do loads of random house chores to scrape together enough money so that I can buy some truly crappy presents for my siblings (and maybe even my potential girlfriend if I truly splurge) all the while dealing with my family who spend hours fighting whilst trying to make everything 'perfect'!

I got mine from www.deepdiscountd... It was like $10.75, with free shipping. Wal-Mart and Target aren't carrying it, since they view it as a seasonal item, with limited shelf life. From He-Man.org, here's a list of retailers who carry it:
In the USA:
Best Buy
Suncoast Movie Company / Media Play stores
Frys Electronics
Tower Records and Video
FYE stores
Hastings Entertainment
Newbury Comics
Amazon.com
DeepDiscountDVD.com
DVDplanet.com
DVDempire.com
J&R Music World

i went the day of its release but wasnt able to find it, so i just got the thundercats and batman dvd sets instead im hoping to pick up the heman special sometime this week but if not then ill probably order it online.
as for people trying to get rid of Christmas, i dont think its really possible, but regardless itll hold the same special meaning it always has for me. like Beyond said, i dont wanna get preachy, but personally being a Christian, ill certainly be celebrating the birth of my Lord as always, while hopefully enjoying good times with family and friends...drinking lots of eggnog of course!! :lol
heres wishing you all a very merry Christmas (or whatever other holiday you celebrate) and the very best to each of everyone of you for the new year
also heres hoping 2006 just plain rocks for BYTB!

Well said BDG!
I don't get these people that get "offended" by MERRY CHRISTMAS" I don't get offended by someone who says "Happy Chanukah" I'm not Jewish, but thats ok, I smile say it back and go on.
I mean it's so bad that sites all over the net won't even say it. But, if that makes you not want to post here.. then so be it.
So again I say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

That's one of the (admittedly few) perks of living in the heart of the Bible Belt: Nobody is afraid to say MERRY CHRISTMAS here!

Same to you!
It's my birthday tomorrow. People think that having a birthday a few days before Christmas would suck a little bit, but it rules! Twice as much presents, and twice as much 'togetherness' and 'Christmassy joy'. It also means I can use any money I might get as a Birthday present to buy those vital last-minute Christmas presents (which unfortunately, I have to do this year!)
In the shadows I saw my destiny...
I would seek justice...
I would have my revenge... |

I can't see too many reason why anyone would get offended. A manager where I work is real Christian and I noticed him saying "Merry Christmas" to customers. Almost sounded like he was really emphasizing "Christmas", maybe he's annoyed by the "holiday" business or something.
I'm not sure the "holiday" thing is a matter of trying to destroy Christmas though. That's pretty silly considering about 80% of the country is Christian, including most politians. I think it could be an attempt to sort of generalize the holiday season for all religions, so the country isn't seen as such a Christian-dominate nation. I'm not saying that's a good thing, I don't really care either way. I'm not even religious, but I like the idea of gift giving and all that good stuff, and I do call them Christmas presents. What else would I call this holiday, Festivus?
...I'd love for a Jew to tell me "Happy Chanukah". Can't say it's ever happened.
