thanks lol Symphony X is a speed/power metal band. They're really good, if you have naspter or any downloading engine, download the song, Inferno(unleash the fire) or egypt. Both great Symphony X songs that will show you the overall sound of the band

Thanks, I'll do that. I read they have "symphonic metal" elements, and I love the combination of metal and classical music, so I look forward to hearing them.
I looked up the "Wall of Death," and according to Wikipedia, Randy from Lamb of God doesn't provoke it out of the audience anymore because of injuries and lawsuits, but some crowds still do it anyway. Kinda funny.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, real-dark-knight; I like it quite a bit myself. The two-disc live set was released November 1999, so you're assumption was close. The two exclusives songs (not just in classical style, but at all) are the single "No Leaf Clover" and "Minus Human," both of which very good by the way. Apparently, they planned on recording a studio version (without an orchestra, I'm guessing) of "Minus Human" for the following album (which would become St. Anger) but of course that didn't happen.
You can also get a DVD of the performance. At the end, Lars says something along the lines of "Same time next year!," but it never happened. There are plenty other Metallica songs that would have been great with a symphony. I'd be interested in hearing some more stuff off their debut "Kill 'Em All."

I was surprised S&M worked as well as it did.
I was big on Metallica throughout the Kill Em All, Lightning, Master of Puppets, Justice For All, & Black (Sandman) LP. Then I just sort of drifted away. Didnt really take a lot of notice
Throughout the Napster thing, as much as I thought they actually had a point (!), they just didnt look good - but I couldnt really say I was that fussed about it.
Then a couple of years ago I got chatting to someone who said "oh you used to like them back in the day etc - you really should check this out" I was sceptical at first (I actually thought, before I'd heard it, it sounded like a load of pompous nonsense) but I was really pleasantly surprised. I thought it was excellent (and hence my post yesterday!)
The only metal I listen to these days is stuff like Metallica that I liked when it was first out - lots of NWOBHM stuff etc (althought clearly Metallica don't count as NWOBHM) - I've got to be honest, the bands that were detailed in the opening post from DarkKnight666 - I've not heard of any of them!
