And the sad part: if they never sued, no one would have noticed it was their product on the show.
And Weird Al rocks.

I had heard about this. It seemed silly, especially since I don't think that I have ever seen another brand of garbage disposal in all the times I have gone to buy one (2). I could see where they would be concerned about it, but all the show did was say that something that is dangerous is dangerous.

I thought we already had a Heroes thread. Oh well...
This is pretty silly. TV shows and movies often do replace real name brands with generic ones, but if it wasn't very noticeable (I haven't seen the show), it just seems like a publicity stunt and/or a cheap money grab. Heck, they probably could've just made NBC publicly state that garbage disposals don't actually act that way and just be done with the stupid ordeal. It probably would've gotten around through news reporters about as well.
I've never heard that Weird Al song, but I like him and the lyrics are pretty funny. I'll probably download it eventually.

Another stupid lawsuit. No wonder real people can never get a break. Nice song, but why do we have it on a Batman Site?

I hadnt heard of/from Weird Al Yankovic for years - the last thing I remember was the Teen Spirit rip-off (although I guess it's possible/likely he's still pretty popular Stateside).
And then I noticed him today(!) advertised in the latest Detective (which I don't have to hand - but assume is what you're talking about?). I really liked some of the stuff he did. Very clever guy.
& one of the perceptions that non-Americans have of the States is that everyone sues everyone for anything!

Yeah, Al's had a resurgance recently. He's got songs about law-suits, downloading music, and what I consider my anthem; White And Nerdy.
He also recently guest starred on "Robot Chicken" where they made a skit with his song "Weasle Stomping Day." Note that Robot Chicken is highly adult orented, it has very crude humour (performed by action figures) mixed with the occasional political satire (but mostly fart jokes); and it has had cameo's by Batman on several occasions.
