The Dinosaur Park of Cabazon, California, which many of you probably remember from Pee Wee's Big Adventure, has recently been bought by Christians. They've been buying roadside dinosaur parks across the country to turn them into propaganda museums that denounce the discoveries of Charles Darwin and the science of evolution. They go as far as claiming that dinosaurs roamed the Garden of Eden and that they were transformed from vegetarians into carnivores by "man's original sin."

I first heard about this the other day on the Hard Attack Sirius radio station and had to search for it myself. It's pretty pathetic really. Some would say you simply can't argue solid facts of science, like that the earth is billions of years old, but some stubbord, childish creationists would have you think otherwise.

Well.. there are two facts. The world is OLD. & There is a God. Now, the two can mix. If you look in Genisis, the first three days, could have lasted millions of years. I mean, the book says God spoke and it was done, but it doesn't say how long it took to be done.

Now on the other hand. I refuse to believe I cam from a fish.

Some people take things way too far. There is a ton of evidence supproting the theory of evolution and the theory that we were created by a higher being.

Now the polar bear, there's an exemple of scientific evolution; grizzley bears migrate north, then after a couple hundred years they have evolved into the perfect seal hunter.

Now the eye ball, there's an example of devine intervention; any animal that is unable to see couldn't possibally evolve eyes, becaues they don't know that sight is possible.

So both sides have evidence; but to tell the truth, I just don't give a flying f***. Don't shove you science fearing or your God fearing onto me or into public museum. Philosophy is fun, but it has no place in education or politics.

If you do want my opinion, human beings could have evolved from a fish; but only if it was helped by some sort of all knowing being.

On either side of the argument, there are people who give everyone else a bad name. Some wackos just take things way too far. I just hope anyone who visits any of these places has enough sense to realize what the deal is.

Hmm. Please, please understand the words you use before making statements. In no way, shape, or form is it a fact that a god exists. It cannot be proven; therefore, it is not fact. That doesn't stop people from believing by any means, but it is in no way a fact. Any reasonable person of dogma can admit this, like Razhwurz, for instance. And he made a great point about shoving religious crap into politics. I'm not trying to be cruel and I don't want to start a big debate; I just want you to understand what you're truly saying. A lot of people misunderstand the definition of a theory as well, so this isn't terribly unordinary to misuse some terms like this.

That's the thing: most people simply believe what they want and not the most conclusive truth, and putting it under a silly context certainly makes one viewpoint seem superior - at face value anyway. If I wish to believe in fairies and Santa Claus, fine, but I need to realize that my wants and desires do not form fact. Most reasonable people of faith dogma understand this and believe that God is beyond our comprehension, which sets the concept beyond fact or theory - this is called theology. The difference between scientific theory and theology is that theory gathers facts and evidence and develops a conclusion out of it, while theology claims to have the absolute answer before beginning to try and find any supporting evidence. I won't take it any further than that and I won't get into who's "right" or "wrong" - just please try and realize the terms and conditions of these concepts. And learning the dynamics of evolution is always helpful. I actually find it a fascinating process, especially with the constant new discoveries.

Thank you. One of my biggest problems with this buying of dinosaur parks is that scientists don't go around shoving propaganda in people's faces; they just study, discover, and make the information available as it stands. Then you have extreme, selfish people of faith that are on an aggressive mission of desperately shoving their personal ideas out there. Which sounds more honest and confident of the two?

Perhaps I just stupid, but what does God and Dinosaurs have in common?

If you believe in God, I guess you could say the God created the Dinosaurs because He created everything.

If you believe in Evolution, I guess you can show how the Dinosaurs evolved, but where did they come from?

Life started someplace, somehow and the real answer is nobody really knows where or why for sure.

I don?t buy the Dinosaurs in the Garden Of Eden thing either. If there were Adam and Eve would probably been eaten one of them. Not to mention Dinosaurs had been extinct for a few million years before.

Roadside parks like this are just supposed a little fun diversion, not a propaganda opportunity to force certain views on the park patrons.
