Our Canadian pal Leslie Nielsen died Sunday night from pneumonia. Most of us remember him from the comedy era of his film career, including Airplane!, the Naked Gun series, Dracula: Dead and Loving it, and the Scary Movie series among works.
Nielsen was one of the first dramatic, deadpan comedians that captivated me as a kid. I still love his '80s and '90s films. It's sad how that brand of spoof has gone downhill so much in recent years and it was refreshing to see him still contributing here and there.
Parody film won't be the same.

Yeah, sad news, I was a fan. The Naked Gun movies are among my favorite comedy movies ever. I've yet to see some of his older films like Forbidden Planet but would like to see them. He'll be missed.
