NOVEMBER 30, 1966
"Come Back, Shame" (prod. #9729-Pt. 1) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. (EST) on ABC as the 59th episode of Batman.
Title is based on the catchcry of Joey Starrett (Brandon DeWilde), uttered at the end of the 1953 Paramount Western classic Shane, which starred Alan Ladd in the title role. The revamped Batcycle crosses over from the 1966 Batman movie into the TV series for the first time in this episode. It will appear again in Episode #9745-Pt. 2, "A Riddling Controversy," and Episode #9755-Pt. 2, "Batman's Waterloo."
The music heard on Andy (Eric Shea)'s transistor radio is the same as the discotheque music heard in The What A Way To Go-Go discotheque in the series premiere, "Hi Diddle Riddle." It can also be heard in the second-season debut, "Shoot A Crooked Arrow," during The Dynamic Duo's Batclimb encounter with Dick Clark.
Cliff Robertson (Shame) later in 2002 had another on-screen involvement with another superhero; he portrayed Peter (Spider-Man) Parker's Uncle Ben Parker.

"It's The Way You Play The Game" (prod. #9729-Pt. 2) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. (EST) on ABC as the 60th episode of Batman.
Milton Frome (Laughing Leo) portrayed Vice Admiral Fangschleister in the 1966 Batman motion picture. According to an ABC press release, Cliff Robertson arragned to take his 7 year-old daughter to visit the Batman set. The character of Andy in these 2 episodes (played by Eric Shea) is named for Robertson's own 8 year-old son Andy.
The strangest thing about this segment is the appearance of the late Werner Klemperer as Col. Wilhelm Klink in the window cameo. Hogan's Heroes (1965-71) aired on CBS at the time (Holy Wrong Network!), and the fact that it was set in the 1940s remained a mystery as to how this series managed to cross over! (Maybe somebody forgot to remind him the war was over?)
John Mitchum (Rip Snorting) is the younger brother of the late Robert Mitchum.

"The Foggiest Notion" (prod. #1711-Pt. 2) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. (EST) on ABC as the 106th episode of Batman.
Part 2 of a 3-part story.
The interior shots of Superintendant Watson's office in Ireland Yard were done on the same set as Commissioner Gordon's office, with a slight change of apparrel.
Episode guests Monte Landis, Stacey Maxwell and Maurice Dallimore all appeared in various episodes of The Monkees (NBC, 1966-68). Glynis Johns (Lady Penelope Peasoup) is remembered for her role as Mrs. Winifred Banks in Walt Disney's Mary Poppins (Buena Vista, 1964).
