SEPTEMBER 7, 1966

"Shoot A Crooked Arrow"
(prod. #9705-Pt. 1) first aired at 7:30p.m. (EDT) on ABC as the 35th episode of Batman.

Art Carney (The Archer) was best known for his role of Ed Norton on The Honeymooners.

Alfred was known as "The William Tell Of Liverpool," and is an expert with the long-, short-, and crossbow.

Episode production numbers appear at the end of the show's end credits throughout this season.
A villain named "The Archer" first appeared in Superman #13 (November-December 1941). The criminal wore a green archer's costume and worked alone, extorting money from wealthy victims whom he would murder if they refused to pay.

Yes, folks, that is Richard Wagstaff "Dick" Clark of Bandstand, Pyramid, and Rockin' New Year's Eve fame.

Beginning this season, all of the action word titles which appear during the climactic fight sequences were inserted inbetween scenes, as opposed to being superimposed over scenes (like the first season and the movie), due to cutting down the massive budget devoted to camera and art work. Speaking of which, check out the action words in the fight scenes in both of these episodes: they're all in Old English typeface, and Old English style ("Ouch-eth!" "Wham-eth!" "Clank-est!" "Thwacke!" "Thwape!" "!Ox?-eth!")!

SEPTEMBER 8, 1966

"Walk The Straight And Narrow"
(prod. #9705-Pt. 2) first aired at 7:30p.m. (EDT) on ABC as the 36th episode of Batman.

These episodes helped Bat-apult The Caped Crusader into his second season on ABC.

SEPTEMBER 6, 1967

The Wednesday night edition of Batman is officially no more. It is replaced by Custer, a new 60-minute western on ABC.

SEPTEMBER 7, 1967

Batman was preempted by a 60-minute preview of a new sitcom on ABC, The Flying Nun.
