Well, Mattel has indeed switched the Waves and put the Superman Series in stores!
I found Brainiac and here is the back to show you all of them:

The first Superman is from the Batman Superman Two Pack from the Comic line.
I like the Supergirl, she looks good!

Hm... That new Superman looks much better and more realistic than the one from the previous series. What is Mattel trying to say by doing that? It's like they messed up the first one and now want us to buy a new fix-up. Doesn't get much more annoying that that, especially considering they're $10 figure that come with no accessories. If these even come my way, I'll probably buy the new one and use the receipt to take back the old one (luckily, still carded). Same goes for that classic costumed Supergirl that's supposed to come out. The repaints are seem pretty lousy and just unnecessary.
As for the three villains, they all look excellent. Darkseid is a bit of a wideload and reminds me of a grubby chef in the back of a truckstop restaurant with that li'l blue apron, but they're all nice looking so far.
Maybe keeping all figures carded because I have no room will work out after all. All these stupid, improved releases and re-releases are very annoying.

I've seen them all, but Supergirl. They're going to have 3 Supergirls by wave 6 or whatever. There has to be other characters they could have done instead of this repainted one. Lois Lane even!! Lol!! But I still love these figures!!!!

That's annoying. They aren't doing that with the Batman figures so much, are they? Only with the Batman figure.

I suppose after seeing that Clark Kent/Superman set, it's possible we'll get Lois, but I still kinda doubt it. While she's not as masculine as DC Direct's version, I still don't really like this Linda version of Supergirl. I was thinking of taking her back to get the upcoming Kara Supergirl, but I wouldn't be surprised if I never even see that one...

Why use the old Comic Version Superman that was lame 3 years ago when it was first released when they just released one of the best Superman figures ever, only to repaint the new version and release them both in the same wave.
At least they are doing a better job with Batman so far.

Judging by the photos, I honestly think that one looks a lot better in terms of both paint jobs and realistic sculpts. The overall design is just much more natural looking. The articulation may be lacking and the face sculpt isn't terribly great, but at least he doesn't have a lavendar costume, raw colored cape, or the exaggerated proportions like that ridiculously wide torso. You could fit a taxi cab under that rib cage. :|

I heard rumors that the re-released Superman from the 2003 Batman Comic book 2 pack has some added articulation, however I don't know if it's true or not. The recent Superman is superiour, but the 2003 one is not a bad scuplt as well(Not the best, but not bad), mainly due to the proportions of the body. And of course, this 1 has more traditional Superman shade of colours unlike the 1st version of the new DC Superheroes Superman.
I was kind of thinking that maybe for those who got both styles figures or want both style figures, that maybe they can use the 2003 figure as sort of a "Superfriends/Super Powers" verison of Superman, and the 2006 figure as the more modern Superman. Considering that the Robotic Brainaic and the armor Lex are based on the 1980's Superfriends/Super Powers verisons of these characters from both that Toyline as well as the cartoon series(Matter of fact Robotic Brainaic was introduced during the 1980's verison of Superfriends, while I believe the armor Lex was 1st used in the Superfriends cartoon), and the fact that Darkseid was featured in a # of episodes in both 1980's "Superfriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show" and "The Super Powers Team: Galatic Guardians", these could almost be consider a Superfriends/Super Powers theme wave.
As for the repaints of Supergirl and the 2006 Superman, I think they are good repaints, however I can see Supergirl still warming up the pegs just like her 1st verison. This repaint of the 2006 Superman is still a good 1, because it isn't wacky. Not to mention, we've in the past seen Sups with a black and red diamond "S" instead of a yellow and red diamond "S". Course, this repaint of Superman could be a post "Our Worlds At War" Superman, because after that 2001 DC Comics event, for a year, Superman replaced the yellow parts of his costume with black as a sort of way to morn those who lost their lives(Or something like that. I forgot the exact reason why). The "S" sheild in the post "Our Worlds At War" cape was outlined in black instead of being done in yellow.
Oh, and I'm glad they brough back the comics, espeically since when Hasbro starts doing their Marvel Legends and other Marvel related toys in 2007, they won't be coming with comic books(Or anything else like cards, backgrounds, etc) unlike the Toy Biz Marvel Legends toys, which may give Mattel a bit of edge in the coming with a "Something Extra Non-Toy Related" department(I would count the "Somthing Extra Non-Toy Related" as comic books, cards, backgrounds, CD, DVD, etc. Build A Figure, figure accessoires, and/or some sort of mini-figures or vehicles I don't count in this department because they are extra things/toys that are toy related). And I really do like it when a toy comes with something extra, whither it's a comic book, cards, DVD, CD, etc. However, Hasbro will still continue the Build A Figure concept for their Marvel Legends line, which is just as cool. But I sometimes don't like the Build A Figure concept because you have to collect all the toys of the wave to create this figure. Of course you don't have to do that and just get the figures you want, but then you feel like that you have to do so, and this is difficult when you can't find all the figures you need to do so.

Just came from the website Action Figure Insider, and Julius Marx has not only done a feature on the Target Exclusive DC Superheroes 2 packs, but also mentiones and has a bit of info about the DC Superheroes Wave 4, and included some pictures. It appears that the reason will be kept a secret for a while, since Boy Wonder over there(Who works for Mattel) stated that it's apparently a long story. Please note that it appears his Batgirl has some Quality issues, since the yellow on the Batgirl's symbol is sort of strach off a bit:
I was reading some postings at the Action Figure Insider fourms, and found out that some over there would consider the 2003 Superman as sort of Earth-2's Superman. So you see, while it may seem a little strange for Mattel to re-release the 2003 Superman scuplt, it seems that there are some that still like it, and in the end, it's still a different scuplt from DCSH Series 2 Superman, even if it hasn't been used for a couple of years now, thus giving people a chance to try and get the scuplt again. |

That Nightwing figure came out with the first Mattel Batman Comic series in a two pack with a repaint of Martial Arts Batman. You can see them in package HERE
They may re-release it as a single or something though, but nothing has been announced.

I thought the 2003 Superman that came in the 2 pack looked a lot like Christopher Reeve. |

I wish they would redo a different Nightwing and maybe re-tool the figure and up the articulation a bit to match Batman
