In a rare turn of events, Batman Begins didn't get any fast food premiums. But lighting doesn't... Well, you know the phrase. The Man of Steel is getting his own assortment of toys from BK.

Check out the official site HERE!

I used to collect fast food premiums, but I'm not really considering these. Years ago, they'd usually be collector cups and/or small figures and vehicles (Batman Returns, BTAS, Batman Beyond), but this line features all sorts of odd toys that I don't really care for. I did get the TV commercial for these taped today, however.

Man, Kids Meal promotions aren't what they used to be. The only really cool 1 is probably that Up Up And Away Superman figure(With flying sound effects), with the Flying Disc being so-so. The Power Step "S" Sheild watch like thing is some what interesting at least(But not that much). But all the others are pretty crappy or aren't that great. I mean a sweat wrist band? Sheesh.

I know for a fact that KFC in North America a couple of years ago dropped doing toy promotions in their Kids Meals due to "Unsafety issues", either because the toys were small enough for kids to shollow, and/or because they were very brittle and they broke easy, which caused shape edges on the broken toy. And in the past few years, some places, especially Burger King, have been doing Kids Meal promotions that either inspire kids to go out and play, stay fit, or exercise, especailly due to the recent reports that kids today are fat and not fit. These types of promotions usually happen during the summer. Now granted, it's not in every kids meal promotions from Burger King or any other resturants. I mean last year's BK's Fantastic Four were actually pretty good looking(And it was something I was hoping for in the Superman Returns promotion) and had nothing to do about keeping fit and reducing weight. But taking a look at some of these BK Superman Returns toys(Freesbie, Power Step clock, Toss And Fly Superman, Power Up Sweat Band to name a few) and how they are presented on the website(Telling kids to enter data to compare their results with Superman) tells you that most of these are meant to inspire kids to go outside and keep fit.

I do know at the moment that BK has a promotion aimed for teens and up for Fast And The Furious Toyko, as well, I'm not sure, but I think that BK maybe doing a Priates Of The Caribbean: The Dead Man's Chest promotion aimed for teens and up as well.

Incase any of you out there are having a hard time viewing the BK Superman Returns site, here's a link form Superhero Times that has pictures on all the BK Superman Returns toys:

McDonald's has a poster out for Pirates, so I would guess that they are handling that one. If Fast and Furious 3 was having a promotion, I would guess that it would have started by now. Hasn't the movie been out for about a month?

These are pretty disappointing, but I can see how little kids would have fun with them. I picked up the super-breath fan yesterday. It would be cool if it would put out air (oooh, bad pun).

Hahah. You made some great points that I didn't quite realize, Spidey_Fan. The exercise related toys are a little silly, but at the same time, I don't want to put down those who encourage kids to be healthy. It wasn't so long ago that they started offering healthier foods at these chains, and that's somewhat of a landmark.

I just wish they did collector cups. They work for both kids and adults. Heck, if they had a set of four or five cool looking cups wrapped with Superman art, I'd be in there once a week picking them all up.
