I just hope they're better than the Batman Begins figures. This is Mattel, though, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

I thought the Batman Begins figures were good. The moulds were quite good, even if there was only like three!

I liked the Batman Begins figures too, I just wish they could keep the same scale between all the figure lines.

I thought the Begins line had a few decent figures, than piles of the garbage repaints Mattel loves to dump into every line it produces. This line had limitless potential, but Mattel dropped the ball in a huge way. Just imagine if they had used the sculpting skills of the Four Horsemen (who sculpted the comic-style Batman line and the excellent Masters of the Universe line), produced the figures in a ^ inch scale, and put the same level of articulation we're getting with the upcoming DC Heroes releases. The Begins line could have been one for the ages, but instead, we got a few passable molds reused ad nauseum, sparse paint apps, and lousy articulation. The Begins line will always stand out to me as a gigantic missed opportunity.

I've seen some Ducards at my Wal-Mart, I didn't know if they were still rare though.

None of the Ducard's (Brown, Green or Black) were rare down here.

I've still only seen 1 to date. Of course, I haven't looked at the Begins stuff since around October either, so it's possible there have been more. I did see the Ra's repaint many times, and it was a rare find in some places.

Toy Wiz.com has listed out some of the Superman Returns toys and action figures with prices.. They don't have any images, but they give a description that puts them in scale with the Begins figures. They say that the pre-orders will ship in March, so we might be seeing them in stores in about a month and a half. Click the link above to go there.

Here is a list:

Superman Returns Movie Action Figure Clark To Superman - $12.99
Superman Returns Movie Action Figure Flying Superman - $7.99
Superman Returns Movie Action Figure Super Breath Superman - $7.99
Superman Returns Movie Action Figure Super Strength Superman - $7.99
Superman Returns Movie Dress Up Set - $13.99
Superman Returns Movie Remote Control Figure Flying Superman - $79.99
Superman Returns Movie 10" Roto-Cast Figure Superman - $12.99
Superman Returns Movie Fight n' Fly Cape - $29.99
Superman Returns Movie Punch n' Crush Gloves - $29.99
Superman Returns Movie Figure Sky Strike Superman - $19.99
Superman Returns Movie Plush Action Figure Swingshot Superman - $12.99
Superman Returns Movie Deluxe Action Figure Truck Lifting Superman - $19.99

I guess that we won't be seeing any pictures until Toy Fair, but with a March release, the figures will come out not long after that. Makes me doubt the March release. Didn't Begins stuff started turning up sometime in April?

No surprise. Mattel: Maximum Figure Quantity, Minimum Figure Variety.

I'm sure they'll release a villain of some kind. I'm eager to see what 'Clark-to-Superman' looks like.

The best was the Spider-Man figures. Instead of giving him 10 different costumes like scuba gear and ninja gliders or whatever, they gave each figure different powers. I'm glad to see that's what they're doing with Superman Returns.
