Batman
DC Direct, 13? Deluxe Collector Figure, 2006. SKU# 25458

So do you really like the Hush Batman that DC Direct did (and continues to reuse) but wish it were a lot bigger? Wish no more as DC Direct adds Batman to the growing list of 13? Deluxe Collector Figures.

At 1/6 Scale, this figure is big and very detailed. What struck me first was the ?rib? detail on the chest that shows through the fabric, very cool and realistic. Then there are the small zippers on the back of the boots and the jump suit. Considering the ?oversized snaps? on many 12? G.I. Joe cloth uniforms these zippers are right in scale. It comes with two closed fists and interchangeable two open hands that can bend each finger individually and allow Batman to hold any of the four Batarangs included.

The figure has plenty of range in articulation thanks to the many ball and cut joints all over the body, including double knee joints like many of the Marvel Legends figures. The motion is fluid and non-binding and holds a pose very well. The gray jumpsuit is one piece with the Bat logo silk-screened on. The black trunks are not sewn to the jumpsuit. The Utility Belt is free floating, but snug and stays in its proper place.

The leather like cape is sewn in five sections and wraps around under the chin allowing it to drape over the shoulders and front of the figure. The gauntlets and boots are the same leather like material.

The figure will stand on it?s own, but you may want to use the included stand to keep it securely upright anyways. I tucked the stand into the front of the trunks and pulled the Utility Belt down to hide the waist clip a bit better.

SPECS:

The figure stands 13 7/8 inches tall (to the ear tips) and has 28 points of articulation (head, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, torso, waist, hips, knees and ankles), a cloth outfit with leather like cape. It also includes 4 Batarangs, Two interchangeable pair of hands one pair fists, the other with movable fingers and a display stand. Price: $59.99

PROS:

Wow, is all I can say. If you can only have one Batman figure, get this one. It?s clean, it?s classic and it?s very well done. It will certainly be a timeless figure that will only grow in value.

CONS:

My only gripe is the hands pop off way to easy. Yes, this is a collector piece and it will not be played with, but I knocked the hands off a lot during the photo shoot and handling the figure.

OVERALL:

This is an outstanding value. Yes, at $59.99 it?s not cheap, but the quality of materials used more than warrants the price and it will look outstanding on display. I have other large Batman figures with cloth outfits and they just don?t compare to this one.

These came out a few months ago, but were re-solicited recently. I passed on it the first time due to budget constraints and regretted not getting one. Now they are back in comic and specialty stores, so if you passed on it the first time too, you may want to reconsider as well.

Another awesome Review FlaBat.
keep them coming because i love reading them.

I agree with you, This is a great Doll and better than the DC Batman Begin one.

I paid $70 for mine, so $60 is a steal but you can find them around 50 at ebay.

Do you have the 1/6 Takara Batman Begins??
The best 1/6 Batman doll ever!!!!!!!!Smile

Great looking figure, and excellent review as always.

What's especially nice with this one is the realism: the costume doesn't look bulky or out of proportion like so many do, and it seems to move with the figure easily.

Yeah, one of my favorite features is how the ribs show through the fabric. The leather cape is nice as well. If I could get this for $40 or 40, maybe I'd pick it up depending on my money situation (I should be saving some up right now but just spend $28 on Super Powers figures last night). I'm on the fence about it I guess. Still, nice review, FlaBat.
