Batmobile
The Batman Series 1: Mattel, 2004 SKU# B9909

The Batmobile for Mattel?s The Batman figures was released along with the first waves of figures mid 2004. It is one of the smallest Batmobiles ever released for Action Figures. It has a style of an exotic sports car more than that of a Batmobile. It?s sleek and simple and just different enough to stand out.

The Batmobile is dark charcoal black with argent silver accents from the A-Pillar up over the open roof and rear deck engine area as well as front spoiler and the side panels that pop open. Translucent blue tail fins and quarter panels light up when either of the two buttons on top of the car are pressed. One of the buttons opens the side panels as well. The car is a single seat model with no steering wheel. Most Batman figures should fit in the car, but some of the variants will not fit. The side panels pop open to reveal rocket launchers on each side, which have independent buttons to fire the missiles.

SPECS:

11 5/8? Long, 5? Wide, 3 1/4? Tall. Electronic sounds and lights, two Missiles.

PROS:

It?s loaded with play value and most Batman figures will fit nicely in the small driver compartment. The buttons are easy to use and the car is put together very well.

CONS:

It?s kind of plain looking for a Batmobile. Granted this is a ?new? Batman just getting started so he can?t have a Batmobile like the comics or the movies just yet. Beyond that I can find no fault with the vehicle at all.

OVERALL:

It may not the best looking Batmobile ever released, but it is a solid car none the less. Naturally Batman collectors will want one, but I think other more casual collectors may get one too, especially when they go on sale.
